College athletes and fast cars. It doesn't take a psychology degree...

.... to understand human nature.

Give an 18 year old kid a car that will drive 150+ mph. What do you think will happen?

Go to any college in the country and give 85 students a Lambourgini, or Ferarri, or Corvette. It doesn't take a psychologist to tell you that most of those 85 kids are going to take it out on the highway and "see what it will do."

Give every player on the Clemson football team a Corvette and you would expect many of them to "test it out on the road." Maybe not as many as UGA players. But still a significant number of them.

If someone gave you a brand new Ferarri when you were 18 and handed you the keys and said, "Drive safely. Obey the speed limit" what would you have done?

Yes, I blame the players. But, I also blame the adults who think it is a great recruiting tool to promise a kid a new sports car as soon as he steps on campus.

Then giving money to 18 yr olds should solve that problem. lawd.

I was thinking about Schieffelin in his purple Vette

when I wrote that poast. No offense to Schieffelin. He may be a very reasonable Vette operator.

I'm sure there are plenty of fast movers over at the football parking lot, too.

It's Kirby's culture...it's still a country Club and the thugs he recruits doesn't help.

That 42% graduation rate for Kirby’s team plays into these situations also.

I would say that at least 10 of those athletes will end up in a coffin and their fast car in the junkyard!!!

Well I wasnt an athlete or rich or had fancy sports cars but I sure did like to drive like I was Andretti.

Can't imagine I would still be alive if someone handed me a Porsche or Lambo at 18.

I have a 1973 Ford Mustang along with a speeding ticket from Nevada State Police for going 189 mph on a Nevada highway. Details later. :)
