but the thing that caught my interest the most was that James Franklin might be more interested in Arkansas than in Va Tech because of the SEC affiliation.

I cannot see Arkansas as a more viable conference contender than Va Tech could be. However, as the SEC/ BIG continue to push for complete dominance in the CFP and/or a separate super conference, perhaps being 7th in the SEC is more viable than being 1st or 2nd in the ACC.

I think many of the players are choosing the SEC/BIG over other conferences in order to be able to compete for the CFP. Why wouldn't coaches apply a similar metric to their careers ?

ACC being left behind. I blame Swofford. This began before Phillips though nthat guy has done nothing to promote the brand either

Have to remember he coached at Vandy, so maybe the familiarity of the sec is part of the draw. I think Arkansas may have more money to throw at fb too. But to your point he will have harder time being in upper tier in sec than ACC.

SEC and B1G schools are quickly approaching TV revenue of $200M per year per school, and these funds will be available for player NIL payments. The ACC schools are looking at TV revenue of $60-70M per year. So Arkansas will have triple the TV revenue of Va Tech and other ACC schools.

Exactly...Who couldn't see this mess coming when all this junk started? It's really not fair to the schools that doesn't have the millions to buy high school kids. I miss college football but not what it's turned into
