Look at all this boo hooing over this kid

Screw that. Drop the hammer.
Oh. You want someone else to do this again to the Rock? Or would you rather scare the bejeezus out of anyone else thinking of doing this again?
Bring the thunder.
"Oh, but I feel sorry for his family and all they're going through."
Well, don't raise a #########.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive

I do feel bad for the family (assuming they are innocent)
AND
I do think you prosecute to the furthest extent of the law.
I don't think that the wish to see justice done requires any sort of vitriol or blame toward the family.

Too late for that. The family has already gotten phone calls from irate Clemson fans. Fans need to grow up, leave the family alone and let the courts handle the matter. Calling and harassing the family just show the nation what kind of fans we are.

instead of treating them like some accessory to showoff to their friends and family. This is what happens when you don't instill humility inside a kid.

there was a lot of humility lacking here today.

and as someone who was raised with a belt to the hindside, I did things once I was away from parents, they wouldn't have approved of. And I'm pretty sure my 29 yr kid did the same thing.

He's a PK (Preacher's kid). Being raised here in the south by a Preacher.....he probably was raised with a fair amount of humility and taught the right things. Everyone of us has skeletons in our closet from bad, stupid and what were we thinking type choices. It's easy to judge, hard to forgive. So, maybe the best thing we can do is let him without sin cast the first stone. I certainly can't pick up any rocks.

and I have been watching the rock be rubbed since it was installed. Should not be a felony unless some sinister motive is revealed. We need to increase security so this doesn't happen again

If he just really loved Clemson and wanted a huge piece of the rock for his living room, would it make the rock any less broken?

so this is also a rich kid,(just look at the shiny paint job he had on his 20 year old truck). Oh and a lot of churches now of days are preaching the new age gospel of acquiring wealth, even though that is nowhere to be found in the Bible.

I would say he is getting lucky in the fact that they are undervaluing the rock. If you put it up for auction I'm betting it would bring more than 10g's.

the state of South Carolina says differently and until that changes, it is a felony

(B) A person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a:
(1) felony and, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both, if the injury to the property or the property loss is worth ten thousand dollars or more;
(2) felony and, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than five years, or both, if the injury to the property or the property loss is worth more than two thousand dollars but less than ten thousand dollars;
(3) misdemeanor triable in magistrates court or municipal court, notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 22-3-540, 22-3-545, 22-3-550, and 14-25-65, if the injury to the property or the property loss is worth two thousand dollars or less. it would the fault of whoever did it.
Now, should Clemson have had more security...yes....but the person totally responsible is the one that committed the crime.

they should send the message that this was a BAD idea. a VERY BAD idea. agreed.
regardless of people's feelings about his family.
but you cant blame the family.
if it ever all comes out, i doubt the motivation will be what the majority would guess in this extreme stupidity of judgment....
and who knows who else was involved.
and i doubt this family really are Clemson fans. in a "dangit we have to go to as many games as we can!!" fan.
i think they are fans of Hartwell more than what is truly Clemson.... and i'm not even talking about atheletics necessarily.

That's why I say we should file a civil suit against him. I'm thinking 100k to be garnished from his wages for the next several years. Send a strong message that aholes who pull this will pay dearly. Otherwise, expect it to happen again...only worse next time.

Make him attend SCAR for six years majoring in pizza processing, force him to marry a loud-mouthed scar-skank and name all their offspring after chicken breeds, and forbid them and all his descendants for seven generations to ever cross into God's Country.
So let it be written, so let it be done.

Consequences
Jun 30, 2013, 10:08 AM

There are consequences for everything you do. If he did the crime he needs to do the time - that hasn't yet been determined though.
I know if I get a DUI I lose my job so I don't drink and drive end of story. It is about time people understand that being stupid isn't an excuse.
