That would mean winning at NC State and beating either Duke or Carolina so my vote is no. My guess would be 19-6 after the Carolina game.

I can understand you are not optimistic vs Duke, but UNC? they are not that good. only 12-8 record.

We should. Unc is there for the taking and the Duke game should be interesting.

Randolph Childress said last night that winning on the road is what it is all about. I agree. But I think this team is mature enough to understand that and will do what they need to. I am certainly not conceding a loss to Duke, but realistically, even if we beat Duke I could see another loss in this final run. Mainly, we just can't see any 3,4,5 minute scoring droughts in any of these games, or allow double digit runs by the other team.

You folks just have no real clue about how hard it is to win ANY games on the road. ANY road game ( no matter the record is no gimme ! I think we are the 2nd or 3rd best in the ACC but NO ROAD GAME IS EASY !!

I think we have a 50-50 percent chance of winning each game on the road.***

True, but I believe there's a difference when you factor in whether you are favored or not on the road.
For instance, if you only look at road wins since 2020, ACC teams have a combined record of 314-556 (0.361) with only Duke and UNC having above 0.500 records on the road. Clemson ranks 7th among ACC teams in road wins with a 19-28 (0.404) record.
Of these 870 away games, 595 (or approximately 68.4%) of the games were games where the road team was the underdog. In these games, the combined record among ACC teams for the road underdog was 135-454 (0.229) with no team having a win percentage greater than 40%. Clemson ranks 3rd among ACC teams in such scenarios with a 9-18 (0.333) record.
Alternatively, examining the 275 road games where the road team was the favored team, the combined record among ACC teams for the road favorite is 177-89 (0.644) with 13 current ACC teams having records above 0.500. Clemson ranks 14th among the 18 current ACC teams with a 10-10 (0.500) record in this scenario.

I’ll say the same thing I said going into the ACCCG against SMU. Definitely possible and I’ll be pulling for it all the way, but if I had to bet the house, I’d say no. I would have lost the house against SMU and hope I am wrong again.

If we win out, the Louisville loss becomes a quad -1 loss and actually counts as a win.

To get there we have
At VT At NCSU GT Duke UNC
I worry about any road games - I think we split those two.
Beat GT.
Probably lose to Duke - they're looking great, but we did beat Kentucky so anything is possible for this team - we have the talent to beat Duke and I think it'll be a hard-fought game.
I hate to say it but UNC probably comes in and beats us, just to uphold ACC history, and after we come off such an emotional game two days earlier. They play Pitt two days before the game so that might take a little out of the Heels hopefully.
18-7

"Why do we always have these midseason collapses?" "Why can't Brownell win the games he's supposed to?" "Why are we so inconsistent?"

And we know your answer to all of that will be that Dabo gets paid too much so it’s his fault.

VT and NC State don't appear to be particularly good, but it still wouldn't shock me if we dropped one of those games.
GT at home should be a dub, and I think we will beat UNC at home too if we don't lay an egg. Duke will be tough.
Using some rough percentages I came up with 3.5 wins out of 5. That's about a 50/50 chance to go 4-1 in that stretch and get to 20-5.

That would mean a 12-2 ACC record, which I believe would be unprecedented.
Duke is obviously our toughest game in that stretch. UNC isn't having a great year, but they are super talented so that game will be tough as well. At least we get both Duke and UNC at home.
We are better than both Virginia Tech and NC State, but both have good coaches and Blacksburg is a tough place to win. We are better than Georgia Tech but as we know, a team can get hot or we can go cold one night and lose the game.
College basketball is so unpredictable!
I say YOLO and all that, let's just win these next 5 to get to 21-4.

3-2 in the next five is what I'd hope/expect.
Anything more than that would be awesome.
Just don't go 0-5 or 1-4.

I would be disappointed if we don't see 20-5. I think we steal either Duke/UNC but fall to one of the Tech's. We have the talent to get there so if we don't then I think the griping to follow would be well warranted and justified.
