Bowl Game?

I see that Duke is predicted to go to Duke's Mayo bowl and Clemson to the Holiday bowl. Which is the better bowl game? I'd rather go to Charlotte than San Diego. We have a better record than Duke and travel better. Surely we get to pick before Duke.

I'm hearing the Holiday Bowl is our most likely destination, with the Pinstripe Bowl as a "backup". The Holiday Bowl has a $6.3M payout. The Mayonnaise Bowl (Charlotte) has a $4.7M payout. Pinstripe Bowl has a $4.4M payout.

We are a 8-4 team going to play another 8-4 team from the Pac 12...
It is what it is.
No idea how the Pac 12 does their bowl selections...but Oregon St. or maybe Utah are really the only teams that make sense for the Holiday Bowl.
We're probably due for a trip out there.
Need to get back in playoff mode next year so we don't have to wear ourselves out with being concerned about the Holiday, Gator, etc.

I don't know if DJ would even play a bowl game. Head coach gone. Potential baseball contract out there. Might want to protect that arm from our bulldozers.

Sadly that's all ESPN cares about these days: sensationalism. Not great football. That's why they hired loud mouth wrestler Pat McAfee and let smart, analytical David Pollack go.

*CFP
Orange
Tier 1: Pop-Tarts, followed by Holida and Gator in no specific order.
Tier 2: Duke's Mayo, Sun, Pinstripe, Military, Fenway. No specific order, teams are assigned based on matchups, travel, etc.

The Holiday Bowl is better than the Mayo bowl.
But they tend to just group the bowls and work out the selections by whatever
makes the most matchup sense for both conferences.
If Tennessee wasn't slotted to the Gator...I'm pretty sure we would end up there, but that rematch is not really desired...by anyone...so out west we go.

personally...but I'm ok with a higher payout too, even if that means we'll have fewer fans in the stands

I'm no expert but I would have to think the additional travel costs would offset the additional payout but I could be wrong.
