What is the possible rationale behind Myles Murphy not doing

the drills or running the 40 at the NFL Combine? Unless there is some hidden injury that nobody has mentioned, I think he has gotten some bad counsel from someone. It is not a good look.

Days to work out for scouts it’s really not that big a deal. Apparently the most important part of the combine are the meetings with teams and the medical exams; however, those don’t televise well on the NFL network.

Also, my give a sheet bucket is pretty empty when it comes to putting forth any effort in keeping track of your many SCOKs; I just vaguely remember someone in the past pointing out that you had another account that was banned.

Well he has a Top 15 grade and if anything is wrong even he woke up with a sneeze… I wouldn’t risk anything… Almost every GM stated on NFL network they could give a crap about “them dressing in pajamas and running around”. It is about their interviews and how would they fit into the team…
Let’s go with another thought process maybe he did believe he wouldn’t do as well yesterday as he would at Clemson pro day… How is that bad?
Lastly KJ is doing his best to get drafted going to the senior bowl and to the combine and pulled his hamstring in the 40. Devil’s Advocate here was KJ getting bad advice because now he’s out and recovering for the next 4-6 weeks and might miss Clemson Pro date…
Or maybe these players have shown how good they are on tape over their amazing Clemson careers and we support them 🤷♂️

Never really understood the combine deal. Maybe it will produce a diamond in the rough from someone folks have not seen a lot of, but I’m guessing I
would rather watch game film and see a guy actually play.
I would guess if you had your short list you may take the combine numbers into consideration

I think the combine just confirms what they already know and in some, but very few cases, someone will surprise them and help themselves out in the draft. And in a few cases, it may expose someone that they may have overrated.

I would guess if you had your short list you may take the combine numbers into consideration
I've always wondered, but suspected, that you get all these guys in one place, everything being measured by the same people, so it is a level playing field and you get a better read on who actually has the best physical tools.

Not because of his physical capabilities but between the ears. Dabo talked multiple times about him taking plays off. Then he took the bowl game off, and now skips the combine.
I am not convinced he will have the work ethic to make it in the NFL. If I am a GM, I am not risking a first or second rd pick on him.

he is a bright kid and the 4th-rated SDE by NFL.com . As far as pure athleticism and ceiling, he is a solid 3rd round pick. His production was excellent, his strength may be an issue, but his long arms and first step will be highly coveted.
Production was down this year across the board upfront. I am sure I am not the only one to notice the lack of pass rush with our front 4 against more talented lines, I do not think it was a talent issue. I'll stop there.
Agree though, Murphy could have had a better year, but I kept hearing KJ Henry's name instead.

Plus 40 times are always mysteriously quicker at Pro Day, and it gives him a chance to work out directly in front of the coaches and scouts who normally attend.
