Football question
After all these law suits are settled to make CFB and NFL similar, and all players gain "their rights", will we be able to hire NFL players? Even a washed up guy like Tom Brady could produce a championship. We could let CJ suit up for a few plays.

Eligibility is just a law suit away. an old pro might still have a college season in him, and it pays great now.

Or now that anything goes, why not let players stay as long as they want to.

Who's to say you can't play as long as you want to. A really good college player who isn't quite NFL material might stay at Clemson for 7 years making half a million a year. My point is now that anything goes, why limit eligibility, or anything else for that matter? There really is no way to mix a money making enterprise for all involved and make up rules as it is some kind of amateur sport anymore. All I know is ticket prices are going up, license fees, parking, dues and worst of all, more TV commercials.

This spurred some wildly speculative thoughts, like: wouldn’t it be hilarious if the unexpected consequence was that CFB overtook and obviated the NFL. Or would it…. 🤔

All the above a great comments that nail the fact the paying college players has throughly screwed up college football. If they are just employees there is not reason they cannot play indefinitely. There is no reason to disqualify them from playing if they declare for the pro's and don't get drafted or change their minds.
The silver lining might be that transferring will become of perogative of the colleges because if I ran a college and am paying players to play I am going to sign them to a contract that says they cannot transfer without being released from their contract first. I am doing to sign them to an nondisclosure agreement (NDA) that says they cannot share football program information. Plus I am going to sign them to financial penalties for transferring. Basically I am going to attempt to make their life absolute #### if they attempt to leave.
Additionally, if players are going to be paid how can the NCAA limit how many scholarships can be given out? The cabal of problems they have opened up with NIL and its expansion have eliminated the reason for all the rules that apply to "student" athletes. No longer does a player need to be academically qualifed...does a player even need to attend college if it is just a job? They could get players onto the team while they are still in highschool.
The last one is that the NCAA has made itself irrelvant so why even have it?
