I think I actually may have some hate for Jerry Jones

Not on some deep personal level
But just the way this guy thinks that his presence is all the Cowboys need to win a Super Bowl. Or yet, even a playoff game.
How do you not even look into Bill Bellicheck in this situation? And you stick with Mccarthy?
Mike Mccarthy has had Brett Favre, Aaron Rogers, and I guess Dak Prescott. He does have a Super Bowl, but only one in 17 years with those quarterbacks.
There is a clear better option with Bellicheck available, and Jerry Jones sticks with his losing coach and quarterback.
I even know that Jones gets into the locker room and runs some things with coaching I think. Maybe just a rumor, but I wouldn’t doubt it.
I don’t care about the Cowboys or any NFL team for that matter.
But given you are the richest franchise in the entire world, leading the 2nd place Yankees by $2 billion, it’s actually unbelievable they haven’t won a Super Bowl in 30 years.
Answer is Jerry Jones.
Mccarthy, Prescott, and whoever else can get blamed and taunted, but it is Jones who has put them in that position. They aren’t the right fits for a Super Bowl, and Jones somehow doesn’t see it that way.
Actually I’m editing this, and I now want to claim that Dallas brings death to coaches and their careers. Because of the expectations that are set because of their resources.
I really don’t think Cowboys fans will be happy enough. If they win one, they will just need another. And they’ll complain for the next 15-30 years that they don’t again.
Any coach for Dallas is doomed

Prescott is never going to win it for them. IMO that’s the missing link.
And just like the commentator on Fox said (cannot remember the name) they need to tone back the glitz and glamour surrounding the team and play football.

Well he won what 3 championships with a really good QB. I just think he has all the pieces minus a QB. People do change and Jerry may be weighing the organization down the longer he is in it. Just seems he has a lot of good players.

Cowboys won those Super Bowls because Jimmy Johnson was in charge. I won't go into a lot of detail, but Jerry Jones' ego got so big, he dumped Jimmy Johnson because he was jealous of the credit Jimmy was getting for their championships. It has to all be about Jerry.
Jerry is an oppressive and suffocating influence in that organization. Romo was good enough; Dak is definitely good enough. They've been through several coaches. The reason the team fails in the playoffs year-after-year-after-year is because of toxic Jerry Jones.

Was Belichick offered the job? Maybe Belichick told he was not interested. Jerry Jones won’t get out of the way. If Belichick joined him there would be too many cooks in the kitchen! Look at what happened with Jimmy Johnson.

Jerry Jones has that wealthy businessman mentality and his way is the only way. I like the Cowboys but don't care for him. At one time, I liked the Yankees but when Steinbrenner bought the team, I lost interest. He had the same mentality as Jones in my opinion.

Belichick is probably like Parcels was about it all… “If I’m gonna cook the meal I’m gonna shop for my own groceries!” No way Jerry would let Belichick do the grocery shopping. Too much of a control freak.

I hope they Weekend at Jerry's him when he passes away so he'll still be part of the mix. It's been a great joy over the years seeing his ego continuously set this franchise back and miss opportunity after opportunity year after year. It's been an annual season highlight.
Viva la Jerry Jones! And Go Steelers!

I love the , well deserved, sarcasm. +1 I'd say Jerry Jones is part of what's wrong with pro football, and our country in general.

I saw a Jerry Jones interview way back when Romo was losing playoff games and he said something about praying for a win in that last Superbowl appearance they had with Barry Switzer Something like “Lord let us win this one and I wont ask for anymore” Apparently God said yes

You got to have the players no matter how good of coach you are . No Patriots fan but the talent in that organization has taken a nose dive.

You also have to consider Bellicheck’s capability with a good QB.
That is the same in general for head coaches. People say that some coaches are carried by their QBs to success.
But yet, McCarthy has won one time like I mentioned earlier. In my opinion, I think Aaron Rodgers in his prime will at least give you the same production as Tom Brady in his prime. But Bellicheck won 6 (I believe) with Brady, and honestly lesser than first round receivers around Brady.
There was a system in place for Brady. I don’t know how they got it to work, but many of Brady’s receivers were bottom half drafted receivers. Except for Randy Moss. But that was the last part of his career.
On a tangent, but people say this about other coaches too. Obvious QB carrying seasons include Joe Burrow with Ed O. and Cam Newton with Gene Chizik. Jimbo Fisher still had success without Winston.
College is a bit different, but same point.

But ask yourself one thing. What are Belichick’s results since Brady left? He has clearly not generated the results since, and his protege wingnut Josh McDaniels failed miserably TWICE.
All to say I’m not sure Bill B is the answer.

Does Jerry Jones exude even the slightest degree of confidence that he knows what it takes to put together a fabulous football team? No, I didn't think so, either. Money cant't buy you some things, especially if you use it unintelligently.

Agree with rhpltmeg® that Dak Prescott rarely performs in high pressure games or moments.
Not on board with Belichick as a HC and/or GM. Times are changing, and players are softer. Belichick completely lost the New England franchise especially Offensively. He's not getting any younger or more adaptable. And it's true Belichick never won without Brady.

I agree that Jerry is too involved, and I think that him not being able to stay out of the way and let the GM and coaches do their jobs has absolutely hurt the team. I also think that the Cowboys have made some poor decisions regarding the contracts they've given out to players recently that have also hindered them, most notably Dak Prescott. As others have said, Dak is not the future. He's a mediocre quarterback and that's all he'll ever be. His arm strength and passing accuracy are mediocre, and he's slow and can't run or elude pass rushers. He doesn't perform well under pressure, on the road, in big games, or in clutch situations. He's especially poor in the playoffs. I'm not in love with McCarthy either, I think he's also mistake prone and struggles to think on his feet and make good in-game adjustments.
Having said that, hiring Bill Bellicheck would be another big mistake. Bill's defensive genius will always be respected, but he is way over the hill at this point and has no clue how to run a modern offense. His drafting has been nothing short of terrible, just look at how pathetic the Patriots skill position talent has been for well over a decade at this point (with the exception of Gronk). They haven't had a great receiver since Randy Moss. It's remarkable that Brady was able to find so much success with the no-name receivers and running backs the Pats always seemed to end up with. But make no mistake, the only reason it worked was because of Brady. Brady masked the offensive deficiencies that the Patriots had in other areas, and as soon as he left, it all got exposed. Just look at what's happened in New England ever since he departed. If you let Bellicheck take over your team, you'll turn into what the Patriots are now. You might have a great defense, but your offense is going to be one of the worst in the league.
