Does he have a background in athletic administration or has he spent the majority of his life after Clemson as a secret service agent?
Lots of people give good interviews. I want someone with an athletic department business background.

Mannerisms are already much like TDP. He even wears the same eye glasses I think.(very sad observation on my part I know) I know this sounds stupid but I am around the athletic department a little and I know him a little from his playing days, but he definitely has conformed to the TDP way. I hope we go new blood, or old school blood(ford era type guy) but not some one associated with Bowden or TDP. With that being said I think Kyle will be a good AD somewhere some day.

new blood. Mickey brought up some really good points. I'd like to see someone come in here and embrace the social media aspect, embrace the Clemson spirit, the students, and the fans. Start some new traditions, new marketing campaigns, some new cheers, some new music, let us (fans) get rowdy... Don't get me wrong, I'm all for sportsmanship, but only to a certain extent. I want to win and make it uncomfortable for visiting teams. This is Death Valley.

We need to continue to be different. Hiring the coordinators that are really more like Head Coaches has proven to be a success.
I think hiring a very successful business man who is married to Clemson would be a perfect fit for Clemson.
(to be fair I like TDP and feel he's married to Clemson)

YES ! Place some emphasis on the "other" Sports
Aug 8, 2012, 12:07 PM

Look, we all love Football, and yes, we all know that the Football Program brings in the bulk of the revenue. HOWEVER, $ asides, there are a whole slew of sports that people love and can bring recognition to Clemson. Its a shame the swimming program was neutered, the "Olympic Sports"??? !!! The school sits on a lake for Gosh sakes, least they could throw up a net a go to the Wal-Mart and buy a few Volleyballs and start a Sand Valleyball aka Beach Volleyball Team !!! (it is now official NCAA D-1)
They could take a clue from the revenue drive that brought in 600 MILLION+ !!! I would gladly contribute to such a drive ....

No inside Clemson hires Please and shake up IPTAY!!
Aug 8, 2012, 1:05 PM

No Brad Scott, no Billy D, no Morrison, etc.
You need someone that is going to shake up IPTAY, not mend fences. How could IPTAY sit on 41 million dollars--money should be accessed much easier by the athletic director. TDP had to negotiate and wait long periods of time before they would free up the funds. IPTAY and the athletic department need new blood.Glad TDP is going--no ecstatic but that relationship needs to change institutionally, structurally.
I am IPTAY all day as ClemsonTom says but there needs to be a better working relationship and deference to the Clemson Athletic Dept. This is a big hire and one we can't afford to get wrong. We will lose our current momentum and not be able to recover for another five-ten years.
