So... Does Dabo continue a trend of promoting former players already on

staff to replace Hall and Austin??
For Hall - Da'Quan Bowers is already on staff as an Defensive Player Development (whatever that is)
For Austin - Tyrone Crowder is already on staff as an Offensive Player Development (whatever that is)
My hope is that Dabo avoids this former player thing (unless it is someone who has more than 5 years as an actual field coach at the college or higher level) and goes after someone known for developing players.
Maybe Eason will just absorb Hall's duties and coach both the DL and DE's to open up another on-field coaching slot somewhere else. As far as the OL coach - wouldn't mind getting someone from outside the Clemson family (maybe one of those Big10 kind of OL guys) who have a tradition of developing effective run-blocking offensive linemen.

He was a younger man, with a lot more natural energy. Maybe he’d just started testerone therapy and his motor was extra high, and everything seemed like it would be easy.
Now he’s older, has a few more wrinkles and extra pounds…..I suspect he realizes just how much work it is for him to be the on the job trainer for every single rookie nepo hire he wants to make, and he will probably use a little more discretion.

DE coach, might be Bowers.
If we are going to spend big bucks, OL is where we need to spend it. I saw where Bama and UGa OL coaches are close to $1 mil. We paid Austin $450k.

I'd say most schools have an OL coach with more prior coaching experience

at Rosewood Elementary and Ebinport Elementary. I might have to send Dabo a resume now that my dream of getting fired from Texas A&M is dead.

coach and Eason may have some quality candidates for the DE coach.

It's possible he lets Eason coach whole D line, and puts a full time guy

One other thing - what do you guys think about the timing of these changes?

In the past, Dabo has always waited until after the very last game has been played to announce staff changes (i.e. after the bowl games at the start of the off season).
Why do you think he pulled the trigger early this year?? Something to do with recruiting? Transfer portal??

that whole NC State game was the low point of the season for me. We should have outright plowed them - the talent differential between Nancy State and us is not even close and yet we played like cold garbage.

Nah, he is going to hire outside. I see a big name coming in. I really have a feeling it will be a former NFL o-line coach.
