Friend in Greenville wasn’t feeling great last week and went to one of the COVID testing sites. Gave em all his info before being told it would likely be a 2 hour wait. He politely said FTS before (this is key) being tested and left.
Got a letter two days later that his test was positive.

Unfortunately I’ve heard this same story 4 times since Saturday. Always a friend or relative who never got tested but were told they were positive. Slight variations of course. Two of them had the doctor send them to a testing site and they refused to go. But still got a call saying they were positive. This was the first that actually showed up, submitted paper work, and walked away. Now, I’m always skeptical of everything. But seeing as I haven’t gotten a letter with lab test results in the past 10 years, it makes me even more skeptical. It’s typically a call or a message sent through a billing website like MyChart. But a letter is always possible I guess. Of course mistakes do happen and considering that in Greenville, the lines sometimes rap around the building with cars to get into testing sites, I could see where this story could be completely true. I’m just curious how he walked in gave his paper work and then was told he’d have to wait 2 hours. Most sites are testing from cars and you don’t submit your paper work until you pull up to the actual testing area. But I guess it could happen. But I got a feeling if you pressed him, he would tell you that it actually happened to a friend of his. And that the friend of his posted it on Facebook and he doesn’t really want to press his friend for too much information. But man, a copy of that letter would really make me less skeptical. But hey I’m just drunk so what do I matter.

You get that says official document or immediate attention required that turns out to be neither. I could see someone doing this (can’t come up with a reason why)
But also after reading the article that was linked, it does sound like some companies have had legitimate problems.
