control away from the schools that havent been producing and replace them with better schools now that the cat is out of the bag. Why should we have to leave and not Wake, Duke, et al?

I have a hard time cracking on Wake. Yes, they are small, but they give a darn good effort for their size. Remember, only Wake and Maryland voted against the extra year in '82. They are not the enemy. Its like cracking on Switzerland.

or maybe 4 of the Big 12 schools forming a western pod to run us to 16. Im just not convinced that things will be any better with Texas being the 800 lb gorilla in the room.

Could be. We thought the same when Nebraska started making waves. Some think that if Dan Beebe would have been fired then we could have avoided the whole fiasco.
Im betting saber rattling wont be enough. Swofford won't be fired until one or more teams leave. By then it may be too late.

the huge differentials between $$$ for football vs Basketball have come out. 80% vs 20% revenue generation is nothing that duke and UNC can hide behind.

If FSU continued like it did in the first half of being in the ACC and if Miami could at least compete for a conference champ, then the conference would be okay.
No doubt the NC crowd are a pain, but the reason the ACC is having problems in getting the deals they want is because the football schools have yet to do anything in the BCS bowls or be in the discussion for a NC.
Much of the blame lies with the football schools too.

coot, if unc and duke would use some of this "revenue" and put it towards football like all of the SEC schools have then the ACC would have a better "product" to negotiate with. But we all know that they use that income for basketball. John Swofford (who btw make 1.5 million/year compared to Slive's 1.0/year< I know blows my #### mind as well) opted for a basketball contract instead of football. He gave up our tier three rights for football so we could have them for bball. Then publicly stated that football was the biggest reason we got our contract. He is enept! You know it, your whole conference knows it!

Y'all are absolutely scared chitless that Clemson will end up in a conference with expansions that will be as strong as the sec with sec money. That would absolutely destroy every advantage the coots have over Clemson. Y'all really didn't believe that it was going to last forever, did you. Clemson needs to get out while the getting is good.......what the bot said today was pretty much the samething that tamu and mizzo said last year bout a month before they left for the sec......the new big 12 would be on par with the sec money wise and team wise.
