Looking at ON3's NIL list, how big a ride is Neon Deion taking Colorado on?

They have over $3.5 Million Dollars tied up in deals just for his TWO sons, $2.4 Million for Shedeur, and $1.1 Million for Shiloh. Add up THAT Family Plan, and his total salary is approaching Dabo's. Now, they may be good players, but does anyone really think they could have gotten that much money, BEFORE this year, from anyone else?

I hadnt thought about it that way but great point. I personally am not a Deion fan. Dude is all talk and I seriously doubt he will ever earn what hes being paid, at least at Colorado. The guy is all about ME and im not sure if he can even spell TEAM

He will milk the coaching ride for all he can. That ego just won't let it be anything but about me as the poster below stated.

Neon has always, always been about himself. You are correct. I doubt he can spell team.

Let's tell the whole story. Before last year, Colorado was 1 of the 5 worst programs in college football. They could not recruit talent and they could not fill seats and their program was in a serious financial deficit.
In one year, Deion improved the perception of the program, filled the seats, won 4 games, (and lost 5 by 7 points or less), and put them on the map in terms of a national awareness and branding that had alluded them for years. All of this brought in significant revenues to the university and has set them on a course to continue to make further progress.
This year's recruiting class is ranked #21 overall according to 24/7 and #5 in portal recruit ranking.
I think this is quite a bit to accomplish in just one year, particularly when you take into account just how bad a shape this program was in a year ago. I really don't know if anyone else would have had the fortitude to come in and shake it up this much and get this much done and helped breath life back into a dead program.
They aren't going to be winning championships anytime soon but I don't believe that was the goal of the administration when they signed up Deion. Their priorities were survival, relevance and respectability/competitiveness. They improved in all of these areas. I'm personally not a big Deion fan but I do respect what he accomplished in his first year and I'm curious to see if he can build on that in year 2.

The interesting thing will be since Colorado is changing conferences, they will have a whole different schedule and start over from that standpoint. Will moving to the Big 12 mean more wins, time will tell.

This is one of the few cases not involving OnlyFans where they actually had marketing value as an entity, so whatever they made was fine.
It wasn't pay to play when it's all anyone is talking about for the entire season and it put Colorado on the map.
I doubt it will last, but they got what they paid for.

Colorado (and their boosters) were desperate for progress and they paid accordingly. I remains to be seen if they bought beans or not.

The list is a valuation, not how much they are being paid.***
