I realize Dabo never wants to even give the impression of running up a score.

BUTT, is it really fair to Vizzina to put him in games and then muzzle him by folding up the playbook so that only running plays and behind the line passes with very little chance of gaining first downs are the call? He is not going to learn anything in those situations that is going to help us win games if he is really called on to do so.

I don’t think he’s not trying to run up the score when CV is in there. I just don’t think he’s that good from what we saw in the spring game.

I disagree. He can learn a lot.
He is playing with the 2s but he is faced with real world situations and game speed. They get things on film to discuss. After every series they get to go over things and ask the questions… what did you see pre-snap; what did you see post-snap? And did he see the right things. And this goes for all the guys playing in mop up time.
And the most important thing… Cade doesn’t get hurt.

Totally agree. Once cade went up 27-7 to end the 3rd quarter, Dabo was stupid for letting cade go out in the 4th quarter. Dabo does realize this isn't baseball and if something freakish happened, cade could have gone back in.
Point being, we had total control over the game. Vizz and/or pearman should have started the 4th quarter with the ones and same play calling and tempo.
That said, thank you coach Troy and Stanford for giving us so many gifts and to the refs who gave us some very favorable no calls.

I agree, and I agree simply bc our backup QBs are only used to throwing the ball to lesser talented receivers, and if the time ever comes that they are thrown in the game with all starters they aren't going to know how to throw the ball to them bc they never get live game action with those guys and with everything happening much faster!!!

I turned his video off the very moment he went to bragging about how "AWESOME" that Cade was last night. To hear that coming from our HC is actually telling us that he really doesn't see all the open receivers from the side lines that we see, and that he only watches a dissected version of the game film. May be if he watched the full version of the game film, he would've seen much easier open receivers to throw the ball to over the ones that were out of his arm strength range. IMO if we were playing against really good teams with as good or better secondary guys as we have, he would have been picked off more than the one time that he was intercepted!!!

He and Cade both know the check down order of the receivers on any given play. Cade just throws to the first receiver who is open. It's fairly easy concept, imo.

Usually the first receiver that he sees open is the one farthest away and he tries to make himself look to be a better QB than he really is but, if Cade was to do his check downs the way that it should be done and throw the ball to the one that would be the easiest to hit with 1st down yardage. If Cade done that, he would be the best QB in our conference bc he is a talented QB when he stays within his arm strength distance. This season for sure he has been throwing the ball to the deepest receivers making those balls look like he was late getting the ball out...

Well i think he is speaking on his growth. Outside of the really under thrown ball to wesco he didn’t have any placement issues. He threw a beautiful pass to Moore that was ruled a catch then overturned. He also had 2 drops by JB9. I think Wesco also had 1 drop. Cade could have took 3 or 4 more sacks last night but got rid of the ball. Last year he doesn’t and they are all sacks. Stanford loaded the box to stop the run and dared us to throw the ball. Pretty much what every team did last year. Last season we score 21 at tops.

It seemed last night was the first Time the playbook was not wide open for CV. I would have liked to seen Chris with the first team offense.
