It might seem as though some used the slogan as if to say we should win every game and the national championship every year - and maybe some think that, but I doubt it's very many.
What most believe is exactly what Dabo said it means - be the best we can be..... and what you heard after the ND game was not because we didn't win - it was because the game plan and execution was not up to our standard of being our best, because we were a long way from that.
Thge complaints that I heard were expressing displeasure with preperation and execution leading to poor results - not an expection of infallible performance.

it doesn't take a genius to see our best effort wasn't given at the Notre Dame game, that goes for players and coaches. The rub is that the coaches didn't come right out and say best effort wasn't given.

who only have the mental capacity to think it means we have to be THE best team at all times.
But I guess that’s why they showed up here… to be a fan of THE best team so they can feel important.

titled “competition.” Lynn Swann appears in puppet land and is sad about losing a game. The king asks him if he did his best and swann says “i think so,” and the king says “then you won.” Swann has no problem acting the prt of an athlete who is wrestling with the concept. He also dances ballet in the episode and mr. Rogers gives a doozy of a speech about the meaning of awards and love to close. It’s a profound look at the meaning of competition. Ironic that it comes from a show for little kids, that Dabo is preaching the same message, and that a lot of us are so cynical as adults that we just can’t get it.

Thanks. Gotta take a look at that. But all of you are correct. Dabo simply wants his players to practice the best they can and execute the best they can. The rest will take care of itself. It's very rare when this does not happen.

To not even consider any other coordinators besides promoting Streeter, Goodwin, and Conn wasn’t Dabo’s best. It was lazy. And he deserves to be called out for it.
I also don’t think Dabo assuming that the transfer portal is a negative for our program is his best. He of all people should know that sometimes people just need to be given a real chance, and for some, that can mean a fresh start.
Those are just two examples.

Those are just two examples of where your opinion differs from that of Dabo. I’m still inclined to support the opinion of the guy that has won 2 National Championships and is currently riding a streak of 12 ten plus win seasons.
