They gave me a ticket for improper start from stop.

At red light where u can either go str8 to leave campus on 93 or take a right to go up to horse shoe. I was heading away from campus at a red light. I was first in line in the inside and a guy was first on the outside. The guy next to me had this loud a$$ mustang and was giving me the ole, "u wanna go business." I just laughed at him. Light turns green and he start spinning wheels. I pulled out regularly and a few second up the rd I got pulled over and the cop swore I spun my tires! My dammmm clutch was on the fritz. Didnt care. It was like 400 to pay it. Still eats me up. Other than that they've been decent. Though I will say when I need help cops that way want to make sure I have license, tags, registration and no warrants before they can answer what directions I've asked for.

If you are just asking for directions, AT NO TIME DO YOU HAVE TO GIVE I.D.!!!! You went to them, they didn't come to you. So, from the beginning they have no probable cause to even ask you for I.D. or registration. You could have pushed the issue, and hired a lawyer, they were way out of line and infringement of someone's Constitutional Rights is a termination offense anywhere in the United States.

The fact that this post was made at 2am is pretty telling.
However, the cops they use to direct traffic on Game day are complete jerks. They’ll stand around and talk to each other, while ignoring traffic. A couple weeks ago we interrupted their conversation by giving a little honk. They weren’t doing their jobs and the guy came up, yelled at us, and told us he’d make us wait all day. right in front of the Aberernathy, you’d think they’d be the most alert ones.

They gave me a speeding ticket when I was designated driving

10 mph over. I think the zone was a 40 mph area and I was going probably 48-49. It was 2:30 in the morning and I was doing the responsible thing and picking up two very drunk friends. Felt like a major a-hole move to not give me a warning. I had never been stopped by the police before that instance so no ticket history or anything like that.

Just so I understand, by using the word "provocative" do you mean the cop unbuttoned his top button, leaned in toward you, made continuous eye contact, and smiled as he was questioning you? If so, that's never happened to me, it's just you.

Most cops are the kind of guys that got turned upside down in high school by the football players and their head put in the toilet. They ALL have a ego issue, and suffer from Napoleon syndrome. Cops today were picked on and pushed around in school and they have dealt with their issues by taking it out on the public. 80% of all cops have NO BUSINESS with a badge. 30 years ago, I broke a cops jaw, another cops nose and 2 ribs, yes I was charged with Assault with a deadly weapon on a government official. But, at least I gave both those cops a life learning lesson. I'm sure they NEVER pop that mouth off again like they did that night. Most red blooded Americans are not going to set there and let anybody, cops or otherwise to threaten them and get in their face. Both cops got what they deserved and are really lucky I snapped back to reality rather quickly during the whole thing.

you that makes entering the law enforcement profession less attractive. I’m a retired Cop with 30 years of service. Actually, encounters with punks like you often just “made my day”. I would love to hear the officer’s account of your encounter. Probably a little different than yours.

a single bad interraction with the Clemson PD. Of course, it was a completely different time, back then, with anti-war demonstrations and other such stuff going on. A small, small town PD didn't want their name on the national news back then, for any reason.

Absolutely correct. They ignore things like evidence and pictures at the scene. Instead, they prefer to re-create an accident scene according to their imagination and fabrication because they are experts at “re-creation” instead of actually looking at what happened. I couldn’t even get them, and especially the chief, to even look at pictures taken at the scene of an accident.
Honestly, the whole traffic situation would be better off if there were no police there whatsoever. They frequently create problems to everyone’s detriment.

but they charged a buddy with indecent exposure for urinating in the woods during a tailgate, he was an education major and it took an expensive attorney to get that off his record.
