I miss those smooth step back throws from Watson and Lawrence

Almost every down when Watson and Lawrence were QB, something good was POSSIBLE to happen. It didn't always happen of course, but I had confidence in every single down, even 4th and long. The receivers and backs somehow burst open on many plays. At times, we had so many open people that our QB's had their choice in targets. Today, and the last 3 seasons, I've had the exact OPPOSITE feeling. That every down, I feel that nothing good was POSSIBLE. That swing of the emotions in such a few short years is quite breathtaking.

Your post reminded me of something. This summer, CK spent a few weeks attending a QB school half way across the country. Why would we need to send him out of town for training he should have been able to receive right here from our coaches? Just asking . . .

well if it didn't go, and then you compare him to the guys that went... the question would be why didnt he go.

Almost any major D1 program QB is going to have a private coach or clinic they meet with in the offseason to get better.

Tahj Boyd did it. I'm fairly certain DW4 + TL16 had their off-season spots too. Heck, Brent V was notorious for going to other programs in the off-season to learn more.

right, and that led to confidence if they threw 3 INTs during a game. It wasn't a good feeling but we could come back. At least it seemed that way.

Remember early last season , Kirk H on Gameday , said something like, “Clemson used to be exciting to watch , now their passing is such a struggle, they have to work hard to just get a big play.”
