I hope it does. West Virgina got us Venables. It has been clear for a while Goodwin cannot cut it. The fact that talent was higher when he first got the job concealed a lot of shortcomings. But it is painfully clear that he is just horrible. Has not been able to stop the run all year.

Yep, all those teams that the BV defense stuffed when people that wasn't a Clemson fan said we wouldn't stop their run game bc of a supper dual threat QB, or they had a big bad wolf at RB, BV would shut them down!!!

Wes has smothered the fire this defense used to play with! He’s a horrible LB coach too. The LB’s are constantly out of position and that is coaching

IMO, our LB's are playing from their talent they had before coming to Clemson and they made themselves better. And yes, Goodwin has no fire in his gut, therefore he can't teach it or coach it, they only have what they had before Goodwin!!!

You're not alone and I promise you that!!! Dabo did say something about the defense not being able to stop TexAss, but our defense has been the biggest Problem with our team when playing anybody with close to having a heartbeat, and we can only hope that Dabo realizes that his program won't have a chance of being competitive in the playoffs until he brings in a DC with experience, and one with a name that can bring in the same quality of players that BV was able to get to Clemson.
This is the truth if I've ever told the truth, and that is I have questioned Goodwin's ability since the day that Dabo named him DC. Our defense has gotten less and less affective every year since BV left, plus the high-end talent has dropped off since Goodwin became our DC. When BV was with our team, we hardly ever seen as big of a drop off in the #1's to the #2's in talent the way that it's been this entire season, and that's on Wess Goodwin, and it's not bc we're broke, and it's not bc they dislike Clemson, it's all on Goodwin and his inability to coach up a Top 10-15-or top 20 defense...
IMO when this game is over, Dabo will be left with a huge decision of what are his plans for getting his FB program and our Tigers back at the top of college FB. And it is just that simple, or it is IMO!!!
