It was clear last night the SMU fans hated it. By the end of the first QT they were pretty much sitting on their hands in the cold.
I do think it mentally gets to the players, fans, and coaches of the opposing team when we start fast.

When the crowd is really into it and it is loud, I think it does have an impact. I do my part to make it as loud as possible.

Having been to games since 1970 and loving everything about Clemson football I was fighting back the vomit rising in my throat the first time I heard it. I can tell you it makes me feel more sick every time I hear them ruin C-L-E-M-S-O-N with it.

That’s how I feel about the recent addition of “m-fing” in the pause between the O and N. It’s sometimes loud enough that it can be heard in the TV broadcasts and we sit in section C in Death Valley and it is loud and clear there. That makes me sick when I hear it.

The pause has always been stupid anyway. It's like you are forgetting how it ends and then you figure it out. Just do the spell out straight through and that will fix it.

A couple of Canes fan sitting in front of us at that game (Clemson won 58-0) left sometime in the 3rd quarter. As they got up to leave, then turned to us and said at least we learned how to spell Clemson today.

I swear! I bet you still complain about how the Cuban Missile Crisis was handled. Do the woohoo. Don’t do the woohoo. But for God’s sake - and the sake of all real adults everywhere - stop complaining about it. It is NOT going away. Personally I don’t say it. But I don’t care that others do.

I feel the same way about the Woohoo. I don’t do it but it doesn’t bother me. The insertion of “m-f’ing” between the O and N does bother me.

Auburn does the spell out at the end of "Glory to Ole Auburn". Wonder who was first? I think Clemson started in the 80's. I remember the cheerleaders teaching it at the Tiger Tailgate Show.
