What would our record be with the coots schedule?

OK, I'll play along...
ODU - W Kentucky - W LSU - W Akron - W Ole Miss - L Bama - L OU - W TAM - W Vandy - W Mizzou - W
We're probably 8-2 and at worst 7-3 with their schedule IMO. They're a solid team and it will be a dog fight. But I don't believe they are as invincible as some think.

Yeah, I am willing to concede another loss to make us 7-3, the same as their record.
But who else do we lose to? Vandy had to go to overtime with VPI. Missouri v Pitt are very close. LSU is probably the one I might also concede but how good is LSU? Could LSU beat UVA? Yes they should but not sure they would...

We are a 4 or 5 win team probably with that schedule. We probably should have lost that game Saturday. Wouldn't bank on our QB getting many 50 yard QB sneaks in the future. Happy we won but we played and play called really bad except for a couple of drives. In the SEC this season we would be in the cellar.

Why would you assume we lose to Ole Miss?

We have one common opponent in Wake. Ole Miss won by 34 while we won by 35.
Ole Miss has proven to be good but inconsistent. I'd think it'd be a toss-up TBH.

Stop seeing the SEC logo on their jersey and thinking it means they are great. That league is suspect as he 1 1 this year. Granted we have our own issues to be sure, so who knows. But what it doesnt mean is the coots are some juggernaut this year.

Clemson, SCar, Texas A&M, Louisville, and LSU are all rated within a couple points of each other in power ratings. Mizzou is just a couple of points below that. Bama is currently 10 points or so higher than Clemson and Ole Miss is about a TD higher than Clemson. At Vandy also is not just an automatic W. They are a pretty tough out this year - just ask Bama and Texas about their games at Vandy.
Basically we would be playing a lot of games against teams that are similar caliber to Louisville, and a couple against teams clearly a level or two above that. So the real question is whether the Louisville game was just a fluky, bad performance by Clemson or was it an indication that we can't hold up against that level of competition and have essentially inflated our power rating by really beating up on some bad teams earlier in the year?
I don't see 8-2 at all in either scenario. The pessimistic view is like 5-5 while the more realistic view (at least based on the power ratings) is probably 7-3 or 6-4.

Good question, but teams tend to play at the level of their conference foes regardless of the conference. It would probably be the same record...and remember: Clemson plays Alabama better than most SEC teams do. The other SEC teams are intimidated by Alabama, and that includes Georgia.

What people don't take into consideration with these type threads is, IF Clemson played their schedule, they'd be in the SEC, getting the SEC EFFECT in recruiting, having 10 to 12 more 4 stars on the roster. Likewise, if they weren't in the SEC, they'd lose 10 to 12, because they have NOTHING else to offer.

Impossbile to know, but I kinda think we would have lost to A&M and the game with LSU would be a toss up as differences to you list. I think we would be sitting on 3 losses right now. Middle of the pack in the SEC.

LSU, aTm, and Mizzou are toss ups. Kentucky would give CLemson fits too (just like last year). CLemson would split those four games and lose to Ole Miss and Bama. 6-4
