Take it as a reflection of FSU winning the last 3 years

And nothing more. Clemson has a soul that Tallahassee and some out-of-area writers will never understand. And finally, winning big changes everything. Expect some winning big in the upcoming years.

It is hard to argue that we have any competition for gameday atmosphere or that our facilities and stadium are second to none in this league. Having said that , since 1991 we have 1 ACC Championship and the Noles have ... a lot more . Gotta beat that bunch in DV this year and start beating them at about a 4-1 clip going forward. GO TIGERS

Exactly - on all points. FSU joined the conference while at the top of their game, and Bobby Bowden was, irrefutably, the "pin-up-poster" darling of the media. And Clemson was suffering the Ford-Hatfield HC transition.... And just to "mention the obvious", in Ford's last season, 1989, we went down to Tallahassee and kicked some Nole a$$ (a year after the "punt-rooskie" debacle in DV) and I'll never forget Danny running off the field at the end of the game with his tongue in his cheek and a grin on his face.... And that put FSU at 0-2 on the season. By the end of that season all announcers everywhere were touting, vehemently, that FSU was the best team in the nation and should be playing for the NC, etc. Maybe so, whatever. But they were so popular with the media during those early years that I recall FSU actually losing on a Saturday and rising in the polls on Monday morning. Another irony is that "word on the street" at the time was that Danny Ford was let go because of his fight with the administration demanding better athletic facilities and being perceived as becoming too powerful a voice in university affairs. Hmmm, we've certainly come a long way. But my point is, had Danny Ford been retained, I don't believe FSU would have enjoyed quite the success in the ACC as they did in the '90s and the history of the conference ever since (and FSU's and Clemson's) might be significantly different. All this is to say that the HC job of a [major] college program relies on winning, or the promise of winning, and, ultimately, winning alone. It is unforgiving and unsentimental, a family atmosphere notwithstanding. Go Tigers!

and a national championship. if anyone thinks fsu is not an elite program they are fooling themselves for many reasons. whether you don't like jimbo, his players or the school, it is an elite program. check their recruiting and results and then compare the results to who ever you think is elite. morals with standing, results say ELITE.

I pointed your comment bc it speaks the truth if you were speaking legend as in DF, and I think you were. But surely not Ken Hatfield as a legend (Howard built it. Ford filled it. Hatfield killed it.) West was after Hatfield. But West was a good guy that I believe he really cared for Clemson. I know he was fiery mad over being fired. That look on his face that day coming off the field from practice, I'll never forget, that was the look of a hurt mad as h&ll man!!!

Most people understand that Clemson is not FSU

FSU is an elite football program. We are recruiting some kids whose parents are too young to remember Clemson winning the MNC 34 years ago

Surprised Miami is that low. It's one of the best jobs in the country.
Also, it brings up a good point. It's amazing how much UNC has underachieved with all the advantages they have. They should be a top program.

Objectively, FSU is a better job because it's easier to win

there, it's easier to recruit there, they can pay more, and they have more history. There's nothing wrong with being a solid 2nd behind one of the top programs in the country.

Paying more is what had/has their athletic program in financial trouble

How many ACC championships has FSU won the last 20 something years. How many has Clemson won? National championships?
Number 2 is where we are right now. Let us win a few ACC titles and NC games, then your outrage might not be without merit.
