I was looking at points allowed by Clemson‘s defense from 2010 until now and the average while I know that can be skewed by playing the Furman’s and the Wofford’s gives the fact that the current D under Goodwin gives up +3 points per game more than under Venables and Steele.

How many games would we have won in the past five years if we had better special teams?

I don’t have an answer. I’m just saying that there’s more to the problem than saying our defense is no good.

I agree. You can certainly measure made field goals vs misses. What you can’t correlate to points is field position from kick off returns (our problem seems to be Clemson returns) and deficit from punts.
