by a state trooper for doing 110 mph in a 70 zone. The story said Saturday night. Was that this past weekend or is this piece old news. Never heard of it.

The brief I read said according to SC law he could have been

.... it's old news, but I'm sure it will be talked about by the media for the next several weeks. He had a serious lapse in judgement, but who hasn't driven well over a speed limit? I know that doesn't make it right, however.
