Don't get me wrong I like Boyd, but he has not done well this year when he gets pressured. Last night prime example.

no QB performs well when they don't have time in the pocket.
Our oline is the root of all of our struggles on offense. If they don't play decent we struggle.

Our line played good enough to win last night. McDowell was gashing them, WHEN MORRIS ACTUALLY LET HIM.

You're partially right but Boyd made (or tried to make) some plays last night where he had almost no pressure and simply missed his targets. Even Sammy got a little irritated with Boyd when he didn't the make throw where it was designed to go. You could almost see him say, "come on man, snap out of it." I think Tajh has lowered his NFL draft status substantially which is a shame.

What I saw...

Was about half the team that played their hearts out, left what they had on the field and Boyd and the other half with their minds elsewhere..I was so sick I had to puke after the game. You need to go into a game like that focused and fired up,,, and yeah I can blame a little on the staff too...but the sun came up today and it is another beautiful day in Tigertown...time to move on and wait to see what the future brings.

offense. Everyone berating our OL is missing the fact that we don't rotate them like everyone else. THAT gives us the fast-paced, up tempo advantage Chad thrives on. That also means our O-line has to be built with physical specimens who can play fast and sustain long drives, and play 70+ plays per game. And THAT means we can't use big, nasty OL players like some other good teams. The theory is that what we lose in pass protection and run blocking is made up with the fast tempo and skill players.
It may be that Chad should consider slowing our offense, allowing more substitutions, and recruit some bigger and nastier OL players. That seems to be what everyone wants, and it may be something to consider. But it is a gamble. A huge, nasty O-line requires more substitutions, slower plays, and that will kill the rhythm our QB and skill players are coached to exploit.

This style came from Warren Moon's days in Houston, and we had a similar less-noted line that ran, ran, ran pace under RR with Woody Dantzler as our QB.

Start putting emphasis on getting high caliber offensive lineman and Dbs who actually belong in division one football!

Run blocking was pretty good last night. Pass blocking, not so good. I am sure Boyd is a little frustrated with the protection that he is given. It probably would have benefitted us if we had run the ball more with McDowell. He was definitely focused last night and deserved a better fate than he got. That first possession trick pass play was ill conceived. We had run all over them and got the ball near the red zone using good, hard nosed running and them we call a tough pass play for a player who hadn't made a pass all year. If it had worked I guess we would be talking about how great it was, but, alas it didn't.

Top recruiting classes in the top ten go 2014, you see most teams have atleast 2 or 3 four star offensive lineman. While Clemson on the other hand have all 2 and 3 star offensive lineman? I put alot of thought in recruiting ratings, but is it not a coincidence that we recruit 3 star offensive lineman and dbs, which is the areas we struggle the most.
