Clemson WR Amari Rodgers (2017-2020) has a rather famous father, but he chose his own path when he selected the right school for him as a student-athlete.
According to TigerNet:
“Rodgers was a 4-star prospect out of Knoxville (TN) Catholic who had offers from many of the top schools in the nation. Included in those offers was one from Tennessee, the hometown team that produced his father, former Volunteers quarterback Tee Martin.
The Volunteers offered early, but when it came time for Rodgers to pick a school, Clemson was his choice.
“Yeah, they (Tennessee) did – they (Tennessee) offered me a scholarship – and I went to Clemson because I wanted to win, plain and simple,” Rodgers said. “That’s really what I wanted to do. I wanted to go to a program that I knew was a winning program and that I knew I was going to be coached and turned into the player that I am and knew I could be.”

Within Rodgers’ impressive stats were many great, great moments. What the stats don’t reveal is hi heart and his dedication. After tearing an ACL in the Spring 2019, for example, he returned to the field in amazing time – missing only one game in the 2019 season. According to Sports Illustrated:
“The average NFL player returns to action following a torn ACL in about a year. Amari Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers' third-round pick, returned to action at Clemson in less than six months.”

After Clemson:
The Green Bay Packers selected Amari Rodgers with the 85th overall pick (3rd Round) in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Packers traded up from the 92nd Pick to the 85th Pick in order to get Rodgers.

“Rodgers played for Green Bay in 2021 and the first 10 games of 2022. He played for the Houston Texans the final 6 games of 2022. He played three games with the Indianapolis Colts last season (2023).”

Interstate 85, always under construction, is a 666.1 mile interstate highway in the southeastern United States running from the south end at I-65/US 82 in Montgomery, Alabama to the north end at I-95/US 460 in Petersburg, Virginia, also going through Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The 106.3 miles of I-85 in South Carolina pass through Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg, and Cherokee counties.
 
The best exit on I-85 is exit 40 - SC 153, which takes you to SC 123 and God's country. On SC 153, you're immediately in the Powdersville area, a town of 10,000 in northern Anderson County bordering Pickens County on the northwest side, Greenville County and the Saluda River on the northeast side and I-85 on the southeast side. The Powdersville name came from early production of gunpowder in the area at a mill established in 1859. The gunpowder was sold and traded at the Powdersville Area General Store. Gunpowder was also stored in the area during the Civil War as an outpost with the main production area in Columbia. I didn't realize there is a Powdersville High School which opened in 2011 and is 1A in sports. Clueless me thought Wren was still the only high school in the area.

Powdersville is 3A. They won the 3A state championship this year in baseball beating Hanahan 9-5.
Former Clemson Tiger Eric Meekins’ son played football for the Powdersville Patriots.
Speaking of I85, I have traveled every mile of it from Montgomery to Petersburg. There’s a stretch of it after you get north of Raleigh where there is absolutely nothing.
