It was clear to me from his post game press conference he is not living in denial. He knows there are major problems. He knows it is his responsibility to fix them.
But, he also understands that changes aren't made in a vacuum. There is a domino effect. Making any one change creates other changes.
There is an expression called "lose the locker room." So, how do you make changes and make sure you don't lose the locker room?
Take a look at what is going on at Pitt right now.
Do I feel sorry for Dabo? Not really. It comes with the job. He knew it was gonna be tough when he took the job. He's knows that it is his job to fix the problems. He knows it is his responsibility to figure out the proper way to fix the problems.
I understand, somewhat, just how tough it is to do the job. But, as they say, "That's why you get the big bucks."

yes sir. He realizes that the internal 'training' program isn't working and now he has to let the 'yes' men go. when middle management doesn't work... time to go. Been there, done that.... however not paid Dabo's salary. LOL.

I think he accepted that he has to make those hard decisions a while ago. He's like a guy that realized while he and his gf are on vacation that he's going to break things off. He's just waiting to get home to pull the plug. I have to believe that or I couldn't watch the rest of the season.

But I’m not keen to follow the rest of the season in ignorance. It is entertainment after all. The only point in playing the games is for the people to watch. If we’re going to get the same output as today, just fast-forward 4 games and take the L. Let the NFL talent that wasted their time on Wes get healthy and bulk up on peanut butter before the draft. And the rest of the staff can continue to miss on their recruit targets.

It's not a tough decision. You play the young guys or the guys that want to be on the field. You use the rest of the season to see who wants it. Who wants playing time. Let the NFL guys go and some will probably hit the portal, but that's okay because you aren't going anywhere.

I'm talking coaches, not players. To your point, I think, some skill players should not see the field again unless we are in mop up time.

That is the silver lining from all of this. And by all of this, I mean the past 3 years. He made a lot of mistakes. A LOT. He got complacent and thought he had established some kind “friends from Alabama/former players” coaching factory. Venables left and he could’ve filled that spot with virtually anyone in the industry. Offensively, we are a complete joke. It’s finally caught up to him. The Daboisms can’t bail him out anymore. Let’s see how he handles it.
