Here's one for you. Cardio. Do you do it or don't you do it?

I thought cardio was for pusssies for the longest time. Until heiress recently told me "i want you to just #### the #### out of me." Now, it's been a whle since a ol' boy like me has heard that (I think the nurse was the last one who said something like that - maybe red?). I've been bulking an am up a good 10 lbs from the summer and my conditioning is off. But fuckit I said, I took that as a challenge and proceeded to hammer that poor girl with all my might for the 60 seconds my heart could handle it. She begged me not to stop but I was as gassed as Peter Woods trying to get a 3rd round draft grade by the time it was finished.

After dripping sweat all over her and admitting that I was smoked, I made her suck me off while I recovered.

I mean, I would like to have made her bleed, but I'm physically incapable of "going to pound town" at 1000 pounds per square in (lmao) like they do in the prons, at least at my current size of 222lb, much of which is just raw muscle.

So as of today, I'm doing 3 high-intensity cardio sessions for about 20 minutes each week so that I can be a better lover. What are you doing to better yourself?

get your cardio game on point.

Mountain bike probably once per week. Walk for an hour a couple times per week. Run 40+ miles per month on a mountain.

They'll be tapping out my dude. Trust me on this.

The balance between meaty and thicc and "in shape" is every so thin and I skirt it every day. Cardio is mostly an issue of time, but we make. time for what's important.

walk for a min of 45...uh...mins several times a week. Even more is betta

keep your heartrate around 120 (give or take - not sure how much the 'young stud' factors in).

Get a cheapo desk treadmill. you'll drop the bad weight, and get a decently ok-ish cardio benefit

Cardio is a game changer. Gonna be tough to stay thicc as it's a bit counterproductive to beefing up but there's a happy place in between. And she'll let you know when you are there.

Yeah I now run 25-30 miles a week. I love running. I now lift tho more than ever and I keep having to back down on the miles to keep my weight up. I really need to stay at that 220-230 range. I am stronger than ever.

You know what, I never lift legs. Never. But my quads are gigantic and my calves from running and rowing. I use the row machine a lot too. Want one at my house.

My wife is super fit and my job is demanding me to be fit, (they don’t demand it but I do so I don’t die) so it works out. My wife and I efffff constantly. I think us both being fit and my testosterone being thru the roof helps.

Yeah. Cardio is the bomb and I think even just 10-15 miles a day can change your ohysique for the better.

Plus when you lift super heavy AND run a lot, you can eat like a champ.

I try to get a couple of longer cardio sessions in twice a week, two short strength workouts on other days, plus hikes and sunshine and stuff. Here's cardio from this month on the #peloton. That thing is great. This a mild intensity workout targeting heartrate. I try to get an hour in with an average heart rate above 160 bpms.

For 30 minute rides I'll push that goal up to near an average of 170 bpms. The peloton also lets me max out cardio efforts more comfortably than other types of exercise. I can push myself til I feel like I'm about to black out then just lay out on the handlebars. I don't do that road running or cycling outside.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'd really like to have a peloton or similar. Almost got a zwift a couple months

I bought it 4 years ago, still not tired of it. I've done minimal maintenance and it gets used at least 5 times a week. Our subscription includes all their classes. I got a set of boxflex adjustable dumbells and kept a few of our older kettlebells and other dumbells. It's all the home gym I need. Capital wise our set up is probably $2000 with weights and the bike, plus the subscription which is spendy at $50 per month. Worth it for me. I'd bet you could get a used one off Marketplace for under $700.

The impact to the joints really what my subsconcious dreads about "cardio" i.e. running or jogging or similar.

I haven't done much biking but seems I could slide in a heavy-high intensity day 1 day a week and then some light work on lifting days.

I also went to kickboxing classes where we just hit the heavy bag--that was good cardio and way more fun than running or biking.

I think 2-3 times a week on the bike, 2-3 3-round boxing sessions, and some light treadmill/incline walking after lifts should get me there.
