Carwarsh halp needed

Large SUV is white. And real clean. Well, white and clean except for the roof. Roof is more along the lines of gray/black from years of build up from pollen, dirt, etc.

Is there some sort of degreaser I can put on there without it F'ing up the paint?

Trying to sort out how to get it clean. Hoping there's some shid I can spray on then warsh off in the auto car warsh tunnel, even if it takes a few tries.

TIA

They make Krud Kutter just for cars and boats. Picked up some a Lowe's the other day. Was thinking of hitting the crap I can't get to under the rack on the roof with the pressure washer...carefully.

Manufacturers should include a scaffolding package as a sticker option so we can wash the roof of our increasingly humongous vehicles.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

White cars are great. They don't really show dirt.

I'll only buy a white or silver car.

I have no idea if that will work or damage paint or not. But it's Magic, and it's surprising how well it works on a lot of stuff. I used one to remove some old mildewing caulking from some white flashing on the front porch, took it right off with no damage to the paint.

is to pick up a can of white Krylon spray paint and just give the top a once-over every few months or so.

For stains like that that are pretty much organic

I’d go with a product like this. Might take multiple applications but it has enzymes that will break down the crap that’s stuck on there. You can use it straight or mix it in with your wash bucket. Let it sit on there for a minute or two before you start wiping.

Don’t scrub with anything harsh or with a crap ton of elbow grease, you’ll ultimately just be killing the clear coat.

Put a healthy coat of wax back on when done to avoid this next time. Your clear coat up there is probably going to be pitted and etched pretty good regardless.

The past so don’t typically recommend.

McKee’s bug and tar was the gold standard forever and would be my first rec but it looks like they made two products out of it (one for bugs, one for tar) which seems dumb.

WRAP A KNIFE IN A PAPER TOWEL AND SCRAPE REAL EASY!

POUR SOME KEROSENE ON THR ROOF SND LIGHT IT ON FIRE SUPER GENTLY!
