I have no knowledge of anything 10000% for sure going on

but if you go out and market your kid for income from a university, you are a sick human being. It doesn't matter where it is, but you look for handouts and try to "sell" your kid to a school based on anything, you need to be locked up. I'm sick and tired of dealing with parents that pushed their kids toward a school, we need to let these young men decide where they want to go, not who is gonna help out Mommy and Daddy the most, but it will never stop. If I were a parent, I would hope that I would stay completely out of the recruiting of my kid and force him to make the decision based on his desires only.

The real question is...what can Clemson do

Feb 6, 2013, 10:02 AM

To better appeal to Mommas? This is a consistent problem that must improve.

Just stop recruiting kids with stupid mothers.***

I feel bad for the kids. They are quite possibly putting their careers in jeopardy because of being declared ineligible to play NCAA ball. I know the NFL will still take them but if they have to sit out for 3 years it is possible they will never make it. The NCAA likes to drag their feet but you may see something sooner than later in this case.

yes and no. making money off your kid is one thing. telling

Same deal. It's ok to give an opinion

different story to push the kid. As bad as this hurts to say, if my son somehow decided to attend the USuCk, I would cringe in private, but tell him I love him and that I know he'll do a great job and he should go there.

Since the "I know nothing" recruit is considered innocent,

and since the parent/guardian/"mentor"/"agent" can take money all they want from anyone not directly a part of the program, the only way to stop this is to tie the school to its boosters or those acting to benefit the school. Simply render ineligible the player. That hurts the school, the player, and the parent. And if it was a booster, of course...and I assume there is still a rule against booster involvement...invoke mandatory booster removal. There HAS to be a price paid. There may not be a way to avoid collateral damage, but until that price is paid...until the NCAA backs up its threats with action...we will see the disparity get larger and larger.

Corruption. And, oh yeah: If a school gets rid of a player for reasons other than grades or illegal activity or PROVEN discipline problems, the school should not be allowed to replace that schollie until it effectively would expire.
