This would be huge news if true. Sponsorships dictating coaching moves

But, the fact it is even rumored and considered possibly to be true just tells you the state of chaos college football is in.

As I said in another post a few days ago, it is just a stormy sea now and folks are trying to survive until they can get to a safe port.

With Nike funding Oregon, if they don’t produce a playoff win this season, Lanning may be on the chopping block. And that’s crazy to think about because he has won a lot of games in a short amount of time. But when that much money is involved just winning a lot of games doesn’t cut it.

Sports apparel vendors simply won’t see their brands sullied by being associated with mediocre teams.

One has to wonder how long the Plank family will tolerate lousy FB teams at Maryland while their Under Armor brand is suffering and Under Armor’s stock price remains in the dumpster.

Maybe indirectly I would guess. The Athletic Department can use money from the $300 million deal to pay off Franklin.

Until there is "hard factual" proof, I'm not buying that Adidas told or hinted to Penn State to fire Franklin. They negotiated the deal with Franklin in place.

If true, this is just another tick on the meter that turns me off of College Football.
