I have an @obed question

My suburban fan was running non stop and the temp gauge was stuck at 0. The fan would continue running 5 minutes after shutting off engine. I have 0 skills on vehicle repairs. However this repair was not difficult.
So.
I replaced the temp sensor and the thermostat.
The engine never overheats, it gets to normal running temp. I've noticed since the repair I can turn the engine off, come back 6 hrs later and start the car and the temp is at 110°. What gives?

I'm driving the whole fam to a fun filled vacation to Disney in 20 days. Getting nervous I'm going to have car troubles.

given that my wife is reluctant to tell me what we're spending on ours in Feb. either take it into a professional or rent one. You will be murdered and fed to the Florida alligators if that thing craps out on you.
