That Tom Allen’s move to Clemson is a lateral move at best if not a demotion.
1) Clemson has only played Penn State one time -1988 Citrus Bowl
2) Penn State Coach Joe Paterno tried to “Little Bro” Clemson Coach Danny Ford in the Pre Game press Conference similar to the way that James Franklin made condescending remarks about Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman’s age.
3) Penn State got their -ss kicked by Clemson 35-10
4) That is still Penn States worst Bowl loss ever
5) We have 3 National Championship, 2 of which by our current coach.
6) Penn State only has 2 National Championships-back in the 80’s
6a) Google James Franklins well documented record against top ranked teams
7) Clemson’s roster was in high school the last time Clemson won one of their 3 national championships.
8) The parents of Penn States roster were just born the last time Penn State won a National championship.

As HC at Illinois he celebrated with team on field & in locker room so wildly that he suffered a nasty gash on check, broke two teeth and had a black eye.
Saying, needs a Hold Back assistant!

Yeah but both Clemson and PSU got busted for giving impermissible gifts.

2006 vs. Ohio State Paterno had to leave the game because he had an accident in his pants. His bow legged jog off the field video is easily found. Our Coach never defecated in his pants that I know of. Joe was 79 at the time and his assistants obviously were running the show by then; he was there in name only. 62 years employed at PSU: 46 years as head coach and 16 more as an assistant are records that won't be broken
Penn State has won their conference championship 5 times in history (they were an independent for 100 years) vs. Clemson has 28.
Tom Allen was a Broyles Assistant nominee this year so they loved him until he left suddenly. CTA has remaining large payouts still coming from Indiana so money was not the issue but the fact that his daughters live in the Carolinas is likely a very big reason. I've never been to State College but it is well documented that it is far off the beaten path and difficult to get there. CTA has the same agent as CDS as well.

I've got basically one thought about what Penn State fans are saying - I don't care. I haven't read anything on their boards or other platforms. I'm not even really giving much attention to the threads here on T-Net. Allen will come in and show us what he's capable of. Like most, I hope it's a huge step back towards the type of defense we're accustomed to, but as to PSU fans? Let them spout off all they want, it changes nothing for Tigertown.
