The Clemson class of destroyers in the United States Navy were named after Midshipman Henry A. Clemson (1820–1846)

We need some torpedo boats and an aircraft carrier or two to satisfy me. Heck, I'd go nuke if I didn't live in G'ville and get the fallout.

DD-186, The USS Clemson. Preceded by the Wickes class destroyer, followed by the Farragut (where I currently live) class destroyer, all in the late 19-teens and early 1920's.

I made a very similar post earlier this year (An obvious example of great minds!)

Very cool stuff - even though the Clemson Class Destroyer Naval ship did not actually have ties to Clemson University.
