I have been dealing with a gastrointestinal issue for months. Including an extended stay in the hospital with acute pancreatitis. My doctors think post cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) syndrome may be the culprit. I’m sitting here knowing I should be at the ER because my pancreatic pain is unmanageable again. They are having a hard time finding any legit causes for the pancreatic distress. I also feel my blood sugar fluctuating because my pancreas seems to be not working properly. I fear I could lose some toes on my left foot if something isn’t figured out quickly.
I bring this to TigerNet because we are Clemson family. I have bled orange since my Dad took me to my first game in 1978. I have degrees from multiple institutions, however, my heart is Clemson’s. Always has been, always will be.

We still have more questions than answers. Some definitive diagnosis are colitis, IBS, and GERD. Most of my pain is just below and behind the rib cage. The same area the gallbladder used to be and more central. It’s incredibly painful.

I had same thing happen to me. They finally figured out it was my appendix just before it perforated.

I can empathize.
I spent over 6 hours in the ER with my Mom last week dealing with GI issues. I, also, have GI issues.
I pray the doctors are able to determine the cause and a treatment path forward.

It’s incredible how painful gastrointestinal issues can be. I’ve had multiple surgeries through the years and pancreatitis is the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. Think a kidney stone but your entire stomach area is sending that type of pain.
I said a prayer for you and your mother as well. Thank you so much!

I will post it again so hopefully you see it. I had basically same thing happen 3 weeks post gall bladder removal. It was my appendix. By time they finally figured it out, it was about to perforate. Found it with CT scan with contrast.

My son has been dealing with the same issues for the last few years. No solid answers. However, yesterday at an allergist he learned of several allergies and asthma of which was unaware. Of course I pray for him often and maybe this is the right answer.

I have been dealing with a gastrointestinal issue for months. Including an extended stay in the hospital with acute pancreatitis. My doctors think post cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) syndrome may be the culprit. I’m sitting here knowing I should be at the ER because my pancreatic pain is unmanageable again. They are having a hard time finding any legit causes for the pancreatic distress. I also feel my blood sugar fluctuating because my pancreas seems to be not working properly. I fear I could lose some toes on my left foot if something isn’t figured out quickly.
I bring this to TigerNet because we are Clemson family. I have bled orange since my Dad took me to my first game in 1978. I have degrees from multiple institutions, however, my heart is Clemson’s. Always has been, always will be.

Done!!! I'm diabetic and taking 60 units of 70/30 insulin twice daily, but more if needed. I also take 15 units of the Humalog KwikPen 2-3 times a day. I worry about losing my feet or toes all the time bc of the numbness and burning, and it feels like when wearing shoes that my socks are balling up at the bottom of my feet. You don't have to explain to me what chitty disease that diabetes is, I suffer with it daily.
BUT, I just want to let you know that since my doctor put me on OZEMPIC, I don't need as much insulin that I had been using for years, A N D my A-1C has dropped from 8.5 to 7.5 in my first month of being on the Ozempic, and the Ozempic is helping me to lose weight that I have needed to lose bc in the past year I had went from 200lbs, to 225lbs. I mean I was just showing my wife yesterday how my pants were loser on me than they've been in a long time. I don't know what all the Ozempic is supposed to do exactly, but I will say that I'm never hungry like I was before Ozempic. So Ozempic maybe something that you want to ask your doctor about.
The only side effects that I've noticed since starting a once a week injection of the Ozempic is the full feeling I have, smelling food cook kind of makes my stomach feel queasy, and I had slacked off from taking my inner gestion meds that prevent gas reflux, and with a cple occurrences of gas reflux since the Ozempic, it helps to remember taking those on a regular basis again. Other than that, it seems to be working for me....
Here is hoping that you get your pancreas issues straighten out, and I to have had my gallbladder removed bc of a severe gall stone attack. I will remember you in my prayers, and God bless you!!!

I had pain in the area after my gallbladder removed for about a year after. Not bad enough to go to the hospital, and one day it went away. Hoping they find what ails you.

Many prayers are being sent your way. I have a friend that is experiencing many of the same issues. She is having more test on Tuesday. It seems that this is very hard to figure out. She is also in a lot of pain. Try to stay positive. Your Clemson Family will pray for you.

Sounds like your MDs have made the right call on the diagnosis of your problem. Cholecystectomy syndrome can cause all the symptoms you mention including pancreatic issues.
