Not a scam - emails came from same official site where I got earlier notices about my claim I didn’t answer the phone call but they left a voicemail that was identical to the email

I haven’t felt anything- some people at church this morning said they felt one about 4:00 AM but I was sound asleep then. Someone I know posted on FB that she felt another one during the day

I did file a claim because of what folks were saying about them paying for losses above what insurance would cover and also pay for things like loss of food or damage to appliances. And like Bill said above it is almost automatic to get $750 for no specific reason?

As well you should. I know government is cumbersome but I've seen people hate on fema. Some think it's immediate relief like red cross but it's more for long term reimbursements.
I know you're way smarter than I and will get to the bottom of it. I'll just say what you already know, keep all receipts but even if it's a hassle, keep on them and insist. Keep the appeal process open and demand a manager. Like I said, you're way smarter than I.
But they do help a lot of people. Keep us posted.
