I find it funny that.

Apr 20, 2013, 12:38 PM

The coots say winning the ACC is not impressive. If they won it, it would be the best thing they have done since 1969. Its give you a automatic place in a BCS bowl. I have some coot friends that say, winning the SEC east is just as good as a ACC title...LOL

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

what did they get out of that SEC East title

Apr 20, 2013, 12:50 PM

an a$$ kicking from auburn and getting beat by the ACC Atlantic champions

Who we whipped pretty handily that year, if memory serves me correctly.

We lost to both Auburn and FSU that year***

we should have won at Auburn, those late-hit spearing cheaters.

Apr 20, 2013, 1:08 PM

and FSU needed a 55 yard FG, as time expired, to beat us. Just sayin.

I stand corrected. The years run together, but both games we should have won. I wonder what might have been Auburn's fate had they lost to us. I do believe FSU stomped usuc in their bowl game that year, though, or am I off on that too?

My reply with a question

The last two head coaches you've had have won national championships AT OTHER SCHOOLS. How many conference championships have they won at the university of south carolina?

Silence or looking at the ground "none".

Stupid Coot logic 101

One Championship in 100+ years of football. They are truely pathetic creatures.

Go TIGERS!!!

Don't know about that, but definitely winning a SEC title would carry much more weight than an ACC title any day. Like it or not, the SEC is a better football league. Not to cry over spilled milk, but we should be in that league.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i can agree with that, but the poster stated DIVISION title

Apr 21, 2013, 6:01 AM

over an acc title, which may be the dumbest statement ever made by a cok-lover, and we all know that there have been (very many) really dumb statements made by them.

And even more dumb, unbelievable statements made by their coaches, eh?

Well, they sure had trouble doing it when they were ACC!***

I find it funny that coots have a losing record vs ACC***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tell them they have never won a conference title

Apr 22, 2013, 12:51 AM

Then see how quickly they claim an ACC title. Never get into a debate with a coot...you can contract diarrhea of the mouth if you get too close...I heard it was contagious.

Winning the ACC isn't overly impressive. Even you guys should admit that. It's not a very strong league presently, but is definitely coming up some with Louisville joining(i really want strong to be our next coach)and FSU and CU back into the national picture. Just need Miami and VT to get back on track. I think what most gamecock fans think is that it's more difficult to win a division title in the SEC than to win the ACC outright, not that it carries the same prestige as winning the ACC and then going to a BCS bowl. Just my 2 cents.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

sec west, maybe. the sec east is no stronger than the acc

Apr 22, 2013, 4:58 AM

atlantic. winning any conf. outright is more of an accomplishment than any division.period.

Re: sec west, maybe. the sec east is no stronger than the acc

Apr 22, 2013, 12:17 PM

Last season final AP poll had Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia ranked above the ACC Champion.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So SC's only championship isn't overly impressive. Nice!***

You don't play the best of the SEC, but when you do...

Apr 23, 2013, 6:34 PM [ in reply to Re: I find it funny that. ]

..you typically lose. The one year you did win the East (then got smashed in Atlanta), it was one of the worst SEC Easts in decades. It was rock bottom for UGA and UF. Who else was there?

You have a losing record against virtually every ACC team; please spare us any notion that 3 years of decent success means you've arrived on the college football scene and changed 115 years of history. Do it for 10 years or more than we'll talk.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The SEC East has been the worst of the SEC for awhile...

Apr 23, 2013, 6:30 PM

And they still can't win it except for one fluke year. When they did win the division (then got smashed by Auburn), it was one of the worst seasons for the SEC East in years, maybe decades. Both UGA and UF sucked, and who else is there? Coots basically won it by default.

You're right. Winning any conference is no easy task. And when you have to go thru FSU and VT (twice) like we did, you're darn right it's an accomplishment. We see how well uSC does when they play FSU. I seem to recall a pretty thorough beat down and their star running back getting KO'd in the process.

Yeah, the ACC, pffft, anyone can win. Riiight. Dumb coots.
