Sounds like Limestone College is closing their doors. Too bad, pretty little campus—might have been the only redeeming part of Gaffney.

Lots of empty spaces and the anchor stores didn't have much in them. What they did have on the shelves was a far cry from what I would consider outlet pricing. I'm pretty sure the 'outlet mall' designation is little more than a marketing term now. Many years ago you could find things that didn't exist in the retail world or overrun stuff that was too good to pass up because they were practically giving it away but in this day and age, people can sit on their lazy fatass at home and have Temu or Alibaba bring that crap to their doorstep.

It's going to an online format.
Several Charlotte news stations reported it this morning and They interviewed several students. Sounds like they are assisting with transfers. Couple of students were from foreign countries. I was shocked to think someone would come from Jamaica and forget the other country to study at LSC?!?!

Ironically i was in Greenville last week in a meeting with folks who do resiliency planning and several were from Gaffney and we even discussed LSC. Nobody even hinted they were close to shutting the doors.
Very sad.

Did also see their 4 year graduation rate was ~ 20%. That ain't great

According to a press release on the college website, Limestone’s Board of Trustees has announced unless the university can obtain “immediate financial support in the amount of $6 million” the institution will need to move fully online or begin the process of closing.

not attend college. She got married right out of high school in 1960, and began to start a family. In her forties, she got an accounting degree from Limestone College, to become a CPA. I think we were prouder of her than we were of ourselves. I don't think I could ever have hit the books in my forties.

I will tell you that passing that exam is a great achievement at any age, but once we passed it we were glad to never have to take it again.
