Which seems more than likely, how do me you think Trump handles that mentally? It seems like he just might have a complete meltdown. Just throwing that out there. I see some rocky times ahead with him.

True, but having to bullship all of the time at such high levels while his country is going to shyt might mess him up mentally and make him even nuttier. He is going to start getting tough questions even from the right.

He will try that, but that won't fly in a year. He will be under some serious pressure. He will have to ban the press completely.

That so called cleaning will never happen or end. In all reality he will just be making a mess for someone else to clean up. At the best he will stripping it all down and it there will be lean times for the citizens of this country. He will leave kind of like how people viewed Jimmy Carter...it just wasn't working.

security for say, our nuclear arsenal, and somehow somebody steals a nuke of the back of a truck while its being transported?
Or he fires an entire group of cybersecurity folks, and that allows a new exploit to go active in our treasury, and someone wipes out all of our asset holdings.
Or the tariffs don't work (big surprise), and it throws us into a recession, allowing another country to be a more viable choice for all the goods we are tariffing, and they take over production of several different goods essentially knocking us out of contention to be a supplier. It's big enough that it causes our economy to go to shyatt, and we end up having to print even more more money to get us out of a deep depression, making our dollar completely worthless. Countries quit buying our debt because our dollar is valueless, hyperinflation kicks in and we throw ourselves into a depression.
There's about a billion ways this can go sideways.

If he can get his son in the White House in 2028, he's achieved a marvelous victory. Really, I don't think he cares. And his disciples will believe whatever he says, and he will believe whatever he says. Election rigged, whatever. Right now, over on X.com (back running for a while anyway), they're blaming the globalists for tanking the stock market. The globalists freaking BUILT IT. Tariffs and ending free trade and promoting isolationist policies, and pissing off (almost) every friend we ever had, will tank the stock market, the economy, etc.
I've harped for years how we've lived beyond our means. If Trump makes it 4 years, or if he doesn't and someone continues his policies, whatever, I think in 4 years people will have a different perspective on where we stood, and where we stand (in 4 years). The simple math doesn't add up, aside from wanting to crash the markets. We have a massive trade imbalance, and with "free"/"unfair" trade, we import around $4T of goods into the US yearly. THAT is the entire universe for tariffs. $4T. Put a 100% tariff on all imports from everywhere, and that barely covers entitlements, and military spending, much less anything else. ALSO, with tariffs on imports, we WILL NOT IMPORT $4T, it will be something less. You can't replace the income tax with tariffs unless you cut discretionary spending by 90% and entitlements at least 50%. That's what tariffs MIGHT cover.
The US consumes more than the entire CONTINENTS of Africa and South America, AND the countries of India and Russia, COMBINED. You don't replace that with domestic labor, or resources. You simply CAN'T. Kick out the illegals, and you make it even more difficult to accomplish the labor of hundreds of millions of FOREIGNERS.
Most Americans just don't know, don't realize, and don't understand. They will though. IF America stands ONLY on it's own two feet in 4 years, we will look back and call the past two decades the greatest period of American history. We were not great in the late 19th and early 20th century, like Trump thinks.
I honestly don't think Trump plans on another election. If he stinks the place up enough, he may be facing impeachment after the midterms, like a real one.

If he makes it that far. I don't think he will.
It's bad enough when you've got as many enemies as he does in front of him...but the worse ones might be the ones he has behind. We keep listening to the bullsh!t rhetoric when what we should be tracking in this era of dark money is the money...and there are three primary groups behind Trump right now - the biggest being the PayPal-now-Palantir Mafia - Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Joe Lonsdale and Alex Karp. Palmer Luckey (Anduril), is angling to be Tony Stark and is THE #1 weaponized drone manufacturer in the world, and Palantir and Anduril founded a self-named "consortium" a few months back. David Sacks (also Palantir and PayPal) is also now Trump's AI and Crypto Czar. https://www.businessinsider.com/silicon-valley-defense-contracts-palantir-anduril-openai-spacex-2024-12?utm_source=chatgpt.com
The second big player is of course Big Oil, fronted by Harold Hamm (Continental), Kelcy Warren (HUGE pipeline magnate)...and, oh yeah, Vladimir Putin. The third and probably only other significant group of backers are the pro-Israel Jewish lobby, represented most notably by Miriam Adelson, wife of the late Sheldon Adelson, hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman, and Bernie Marcus, Home Depot's co-founder (though Bernie died the day before the election, which I found sort of interesting.)
The Wall Street business community, aside from the PayPal/Palantir and Big Oil guys, got the door slammed in their faces. CEO's all over the Street can't even get him on the phone, much less get in to see him.
So follow the money...and what we see is massive and instant government contracts to SpaceX, Palantir, Anduril, and of course, Big Oil - Drill Baby Drill! - and Donald went full-on Apache towards green tech right out of the gate, is even trying to claw back money Congress already paid out to greentech startups. And for the Israel lobby, we have Gaza Hotel and Resort World, future vacation spot of Israel.
And the stock market is taking a beating...and all of a sudden, we have a Donald Trump who doesn't seem to care jack about the stock market.
The real interesting dynamic, though, is that the Big Oil group and the PayPal Mafia guys were allies of the moment, but now that Donald's in office, one of them is going to go. Future tech is a Very Big Deal to AI, which requires massive power technology development (and a lot of those PayPal guys are also big into nuclear startups like Helion and Oklo), and all these PayPal guys have major business concerns in Europe as well, so clearly the Musk/Thiel gang and Big Oil/Putin association are not going to hold hands and make nice for very long. And I'd personally bet on the ones with the most money...and oh, yeah, the ones who also incidentally mentored and bankrolled Donald's Veep, JD Vance.
Just as an aside, Palantir - named for the all-seeing crystal ball in Lord of the Rings - is the AI and silo network for almost all US intelligence. It is to our intelligence services what Epic is for medical industry. But don't worry, Donald, I'm sure the all-seeing orb has your back. Sleep tight!

We are most definitely not off to a good start and seeing how the Pubs are mute and completely deferential to Trump and the Dems seem to think throwing out F bombs is some sort of a solution, we’re probably pretty much screwed.

This is all on the Republicans currently.
What needs to happen, regardless of which party takes the White House in 2028, is that Congress needs to re-assert its power. There needs to be less alignment along parties, and more true back-and-forth between the branches.

The worse things get, the more he will attack his political opponents, the Dems, the media, the FED, the Globalists (the Jooooooz), the transgender people, immigrants, Canada, Greenland, Zelensky, the EU, the STate of California...the list is infinite. There's probably a librarian in rural Oregon that will be his target one day. It just never ends.
The thing you need to remember with Trump is that it's always someone else's fault. So, when he radicalizes, he'll just unleash his DOJ or his base on the target of the day, and it will become more ferocious and more dictatorial than even today.
The longer this goes on, the worse the outcome that one can imagine...

In your scenario, Trump gets mad along the way, but he’ll be able to affix much of the blame to RINO Republicans and Democrats who would not support his economic agenda.
I’ve read in various publications (sorry, I can’t recall specifically which ones, and am not going to spend the time to dig them up and link them) that Trump will have the support from the RINOs in House and Senate for another ~100 to ~150 days. After that, because the tariff policies are ones that create short term pain before they generate long term gain, the RINOs will be emboldened to do what they’ve lacked the political courage to do; trash Trump and resume kissing up to their crony capitalist money launderers.
Back to your scenario. Trump will get mad, but will lecture the RINOs that they are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Ultimately, I am fearful that the Uniparty wins again, with the RINOs and Democrats privately doing their traditional Deep State reach-around once again.
Complete meltdown? Nah. His discipline and endurance in surviving the Uniparty’s LawFare and inexplicably lax security (remember Butler, PA?) is predictive. He’ll be mad, but there will be no melt-down.

There will just be pain.
It's been instructive to watch the MAGA cult (which you're deep in the cult) adopt the "long term gain after short term pain" talking points. This was not what you guys campaigned on. But we knew that Trump's campaign was a pack of lies in any event.
