we have officially traded places with the Gamecocks of old.

They are the physical defensive and running team and we are the flashy skilled player ball flingers with a soft under-belly of a defensive.

The proof is in the recent streak.

I never thought I'd live to see the day. At least they're is next year...oh crap!

most explosive offenses in all of college football? Yeah, um, pretty sure that never happened. They just plain sucked. Yes, they have become much better since then. The bottom line is if our talent evaluation and recruiting were better on defense, we would be fine. We simply lack an effective defense right now. It's hardly the scenario that you put forth. We've been a finesse style team since CTB started.

especially on defense. Our best DL in my opinion is a true freshman, DJ Reader. Our best DL next year will be another true freshman RM (assuming he eventually signs with Clemson).

Without naming names, the junior and senior defensive players, with the exception of Tig Willard, have played terrible the last couple of years. No playmakers.

In our hay-day we were a strong running team with a good defense.

USC had the skill players at WR and QB. They also had a weak defense that would wilt.

I think that's exactly the opposite these days.
