I don't know if Dabo actually turned down the ALA job...

but if that were true, I could see him not wanting to embarrass them by admitting to it. That isn't his style and they are still his alma mater and he treats that with respect.
That is just who he is and one of the many reasons why we love him.

I don't know how true or false it is, but people on twitter were saying that Dabo was never offered the job. But regardless of who offers him in the future, I hope that his answer will always be N O!!!

Those people are playing the semantic game. It’s been reported they called to gauge his interest, when he let them know he wasn’t interested, it didn’t go any farther, and there was no chance to offer. So yes, he most likely wasn’t offered the job, but not because they weren’t interested in offering it.

It's more likely that he didn't have to turn the job down because he was never officially offered. Alabama probably contacted him to discuss the potential and gauge his interest. Apparently he politely responded and told them he was not interested at this time.

Well done, you just made up a scenario and praised Dabo based on that

Dabo and Nick vacationed together at least one year, maybe more.

Maybe it wasn't together but just in the same resort. I know Dabo made it public or I wouldn't have heard about it.
My best guess is that Saban sought Dabo out to see if he would be a replacement when Nick retired. What I know is that Dabo wouldn't have soft pedaled the topic. Dabo can dodge questions he doesn't want to answer about as well as anyone when he's in front of a mic. He would not dodge that question sitting across the dinner table with a friend.
Saban knew Dabo was not interested in the job because of the way Bama's AD and administration abused his trust. Read the transcript if you missed the audio of the Finebaum/Swinney interview. I posted it late yesterday. It's 12:30 am at the time of this post.

Something I never saw mentioned in all of this was Coach Dabo would have had a choice between Clemson Culture and Bama boosters. The two things aren't compatible and never will be.

This is stupid. He told them he wasn’t interested, therefore no offer was initiated. I don’t understand why that is difficult to grasp?

Its just another form of disrespect from their jealousy of Dabo. It does not make 1 ounce of difference whether he turned them down or if there was an offer or not. He had no interest in talking to them which tells everyone what they need to know. Who cares if he was offered or turned down an offer? The biggest issue is that he is happy where he is and and has no interest in discussing a change. What we should be happy about is that if he wasnt interested in AL then there is no other school he is interested in either. He IS a Clemson man.
