I think that if Neff wanted to prove that he has what it takes to be the AD at a school like Clemson, he should in a polite respectable way come back out and say due to what happened with the team in the 1st game of the NIT, that he felt it was best for Clemson and the basketball program that he reverse his decision of retaining HC Brad Brownell.
IMO, what happen in the first game of the NIT, that has been an occurrence under the Brownell leadership many times when going against lesser talent, Brad's game plan wasn't the plan needed to win when your players are struggling with getting their shots to fall through, he needed a plan to help those guys out, and he had nothing, nor did he offer anything like completely changing things up, or slowing thing down, or using his timeouts to try an build a fire under his guys to just do what they always do, but make an effort to get the ball in the paint and shoot jump shots just to get a few balls to fall through for a confidence boost. Just do something positive to help get your team back in a grove, but Brad just isn't any good at that, and it's needed in a lot of games bc every game is different, and every player may not be up to speed for it. IMO, a HC has to have things he can do or say to change what your team is doing and not working. I mean sit whoever and give them a moment with their thoughts and give somebody else a chance to prove themselves. Brad lets droughts go on to long before he tries something or someone different!!!!

Nope, we sure want. He knows that he sit on his own nuts, and he's to embarrassed to say another word about Brownell or his mediocre BB program bc he allowed mediocre Brad slide right past him when he had the ammunition needed to fire him when the finale buzzer sounded in that terrible N I T loss...
They were saying that Brownell was making his case to the NCAA about his team being selected for the NCAA tournament, that was BUll Chit, he was making his case to Neff through the backdoor bc of the ultimatum Neff gave him at the end of last season, and it worked, his pay check continues for another 12 months for another mediocre season.
IMO, Neff and Brownell should be looking for another job!!!

Judge I'm one of a few that hasn't been on your case, so I ask you to be 100% honest to yourself, what about the 13 years of Brownell that hasn't been mediocre. One or two or 3 more wins in a season doesn't equal to being better than the season before bc of different teams on the schedule from one year to the next. You have to also admit that the ACC is down more this season compared to others, and bc we are beating teams that are usually good teams doesn't make our team better when those usually good teams are having a down year, and they are across the entire ACC....

Brad couldn’t handle Morehead, couldn’t beat Virginia (Furman was able to accomplish this.) either. Also embarrassed this university losing to Oakland in the NIT just a few seasons ago so a pattern has occurred. Brad has had more than enough time. Fans have every right to expect better and hope for his resignation!

Neff should have known better than to say something before the season was completed. He'll have that egg on his face for a long time, and deservedly so.
I don't keep close track of the basketball team but a friend of mine that does speculated that next year will be a rebuilding year, at best. That doesn't bode well.
