until our 11 mil a year head coach decides to play the new college recruiting ball game. results on the field will continue to decline as well. for every 3 star that hits.. the rest are just that average players that cant compete against top elite talent

And where is all this $$ going to come from? We have a (comparatively speaking) much smaller alumni base than the Texas', OSU's, Meechigans, ND's of the world.......this is a fact.

IMO depth of the roster is going to be more important than stars. In addition coaches will have to do a better job with game plan and players will have to execute better. And, an above average QB will win games if the defense can hold the opposing team to a manageable level of points. IMO, so what you get all your players from the portal they still have to play/execute the offense and defense.

Even if some of these guys are underrated, who is going to develop them to their fullest potential and put them in the best position to succeed?
We used to be great at that, but now we are poor at it. That's what happens when you go with the friends and family plan to hire assistants who aren't qualified.
