Which 5 CU hoops' players all time would you pick for

your starting lineup? Not the 5 best, just your starters at each position. Also name your 5 reserves, 2 Gds, 2 Fwds, and 1 C:
PG Skip Wise SG Billy Williams C Treeee (blocked shots and rebounds) SF Greg Buckner (tenacious defender) PF Horace Grant Reserves: G Will Solomon G Terrell McIntyre C Elden Campbell SF KJ McDaniel (1st team all ACC and defensive POY in 2014). PF PJ Hall (for overall offensive skills and fire power coming off the bench). The group above needs another outside shooter.
That starting 5 is very tough defensively with Williams and Buckner on the perimeter.
Apologies to Dale Davis and Larry Nance but this just for their college careers not NBA.

Skip Wise definitely had the ball in his hands a lot, but Jo Jo Bethea was the point guard on that team. Skip played the 2 position.

I like your team. I loved Greg Buckner. But I'm sliding Greg onto the 2nd team, sitting KJ at the end of the bench, and putting Trevor Booker at 1st team SF. Watched him in person for 3 years, and he was an incredible college player.

I thought about that after posting. You're making an excellent case, that we have always had great inside guys and defense. It's difficult to find great outside shooters among the all-timers. I remember Horace hitting his only career 3 for the win at UVA. Trevor shot 30% from 3. Will and Oglesby were streaky, KJ ok.
I'll bet you, though, Skip Wise would be a 3-point King in today's game.

I agree with Joseph except no way PJ is picked over either Dale Davis or Larry Nance. In today's 3 point world, give me Nance.

So easy. You missed the best. PG: Terrell McIntyre SG: Greg Buckner F: Horace Grant F: Trevor Booker C: Tree Rollins
Reserves Elden Campbell Larry Nance KJ McDaniels Joe Girard III PJ Hall if he doesn’t shoot a three.
Honorable mention Will Solomon Jaron Blossomgame Sharone Wright Dale Davis
That would be a sick team.

You must believe that Rick Barnes underachieved at Clemson.

Two of our best five players ever, on the same team, and they went 2-3 in the NCAA Tournament and never finished higher than fourth in a 9 team ACC.
You would think he would’ve had more success with those two, especially the 97-98 team that had a senior Buckner and junior McIntyre, as well as nice supporting players such as Tony Christie and Harold Jamison.

You need a bigger bench. Dale Davis, Sharone Wright, Trevor Booker, Devin Gray, Larry Nance , etc. need a place to sit.

Also you are leaving out Banks McFadden?

That was a fun mental exercise!
I always want to put Moose Campbell on one of these all-time teams. I love that man so much, frequently playing with us scrubs in Fike. Then, he chooses to play for the Globetrotters out of college, spurning a 2nd round selection from the Phoenix Suns. I ran across these photos earlier this afternoon, while searching for him on google. They are from a January 8, 2017 Globetrotters game in Jackson, MS. Yes, you read that correct, 2017.
He was never better than the night he bested Mike Gminski at LJ.
I thought you might enjoy these.
