I just watched some LSU film

Both from last season and some clips from this spring/summer. I hope Dabo and staff don’t waste another minute preparing for this game. Last season LSU started as a top 13 team but finished unranked. They are trending down and I wish we hadn’t even taken this game. It would have benefited us more to schedule another playoff caliber team like SMU. I guess we just have to hope no one gets hurt in this glorified jamboree game as we set our eyes on another ACC championship where we can get the extra money we deserve.

I see what you are saying. After the victory, it will be really hard to gauge how good we really are until we meet an SMU or a Louisville.

LSU bagged the number 1 portal class on top of a top notch recruiting class. They loaded up with5 star talent everywhere. They are big, fast And loaded. Just a reminder but we lost 3 games last year and Pitt should have been 5 ! We were O fer against SEC so we shall see ?

To measure how good we really are, I wished our opening game was against a team from the premier league, B1G. Nothing to be gained from playing anyone from the Big 12 or SEC.

Just a reminder that we won another ACC Championship last year , and that 2 of the 3 teams we lost to in the regular season didn't even make the playoffs...while we did.

On the other hand, we haven’t set the world ablaze with our season openers vs good (or better) opponents starting with 2021 season.
2021 - lost to UGA (a ‘good’ loss, if such a thing really exists)
2022 - beat GA Tech (was not expected to be a strong team, so this reinforces starting out the year vs mediocre opponent).
2023 - lost to Duke (a very bad loss)
2024 - got slaughtered by UGA (a very bad loss).
What I’m trying to say is that starting this season against a Duke-2023-esque caliber team (e.g., LSU - 2025 version) isn’t a bad idea. If we end up screwing the pooch again, at least to most of the rest of the country (and CFP committee), such a loss shouldn’t be catastrophe in and if itself.
If we win (as expected), then we’ll get some beauty pageant points.
Regardless, since Troy is our next opponent, I hope we focus entirely on beating LSU.

Brian Kelly was riding around on a Golf Cart a eating Buffalo Wings with a Gatorade jug full of ranch sauce. Every Time he would yell at a player, food would fly out of his mouth and onto the front of his shirt.
On Friday, he ran over Nussmeier's foot, and he had to be carted off to the locker room. He spent the rest of the practice yelling through his bullhorn, but I could barely hear what he was saying over the sound of players laughing at him.

I don't think Brian Kelley will last much longer. He always finds a way to blow big games. The opener against you guys is his fifth since at LSU. If he loses it that makes all five have been losses. The Tiger fans are getting tired of their team finishing fifth or sixth every year. It is too high a caliber sports department they have to not be a threat to the upper teams in the SEC.

They are supposed to be one of the better teams in the ESPN. I can't remember if Texas or Georgia was picked to win that conference, but LSU was up there.

I think SCLSU would be a better opponent since it’s OOC and they’re more respected in the media. I know they haven’t done anything since their miraculous ’98 Bourbon Bowl win, but the networks sure love re-airing that game, especially TBS & USA
