http://ktla.com/2013/07/01/graphic-video-shows-hawthorne-police-arresting-man-killing-his-dog/#axzz2XwZ9GCOc
I called the police dept. in California and the lieutenant and told him what I thought and why they did not let the guy put his dog back in his car? The other officer confronted the dog and shot and killed it 4 times....The cop on the phone told me that if I had such common sense and knew other ways to do things then come down and apply to the dept...

That dog jumped out of the car, ran up to the officers

and started jumping and attempted to bite one of them.
The fact that it's Rottweiler doesn't help considering their reputation.

lol...started jumping??? The PIG approached the dog...
Jul 2, 2013, 10:13 PM

so what do u think it's going to do??? Would you agree if the cops would have let the guy place dog back in car and roll up windows and call a friend the result would have been the same? Or should Pigs be allowed to shoot a dog just because of it's breed when ever?

You're letting your emotions cloud what's actually there.

Go watch the video. The dog runs up and takes a lunge at the officer, then backs up. The officer goes to try and control the dog, and he jumps at him and tries to bite him. The officer fires.
I don't have a problem with that. Tensions are already high due to the arrest. Having a dog attack you isn't beneficial.

maybe the cop didn't need to shoot the dog, but...

I'm not sure it's necessary for somebody in South Carolina to call the police department to tell them what for. I also find it pretty hard to believe somebody's claiming to be so "shaken up" by watching that video that they can't speak English.

You're already having to deal with arresting someone who isn't exactly cooperating. Having a dog come at you, a rottweiler at that, is scary. He reacted to protect himself.
Again, I don't have an issue with what happened. Sad for the dog, but it happens sometimes. Dogs can do serious damage to a person.

Especially considering the fact

that certain segments of our society buy this very breed of dog as a weapon of protection during their illicit activities.
We had a frequent flier medical case a few years back who's son had a Rotti for this very reason. After the combination of using our medical bag as a shield and the less than delicate application of the oxygen cylinder to the dog's head we advised both the patient and her son that from then on we simply would not enter the scene until the dog was secured.

The guy obviously lost his opportunity for not wanting to be civil in the first place. He was being a moron and it got his dog killed.

Dog owner also may be lacking in common sense

Why was he interfering with the situation?
I love animals, but Rotweillers scare the sh!t out of me. I might have shot that dog in that situation as well.

I find the term PIG very offensive. My brother is a cop and until you walk in their shoes please don't attempt to judge. If officers were not around we would have a lawless society and lets see then how you would fair. Hope you never need any assistance from a so called pig.

in general. Totally agree with ^^^^ as he is dead on. I did not watch video as I hate seeing that stuff, but I know a lot of cops, some great, some not so much and they have an extremely difficult job to do with seat of the pants decisions every day. But you on the other hand did not need to write "when you were so emotional" yet chose to do so. Maybe you should volunteer as a reserve and just see how well you can handle their jobs. Always heard don't complain about something unless you are willing and able to help out! I am curious to know what you do for a living, but no need for an answer.

police officers and I respect the good ones....not like the pig that held and delayed the NFL running back in Texas from seeing his dying mother-in-law because he ran a stop sign in a hospital parking lot...once again...ZERO COMMON SENSE.
