I am no WG/PC apologist and certainly this year was not good, but

the defense didn't run Mafah into uselessness due to injury. And the defense didn't miss throws or catches or make INTs that ended games for us.
Just sayin.

Offence was miles better this year, defense was not. Some games it seemed like they were playing keep away from the offence by letting teams run a lot.

To be clear, I am saying I think WG/PC was perhaps made a bit of a scapegoat.***

It wasn’t a great game to end the season for those trying to blame the offense, but there is a point to be made there.
In 4 losses we scored: 3, 21,14,and 24 pts.
I’d say that 21 and 24 pts is somewhat acceptable if you have a great defense and expect to win a game.
The 3 and 14 aren’t there.

Asking as a serious question because I don't know and don't wish to look it up.

in the low scoring games, how much of that was due to bad offence (UGA clearly was) and how much was lack of opportunity because the defense wasn't getting off the field? We won't bring up how the kicking woes may have impacted PPG at this time.

Yeah, but there were 69th in total defense...

and 85th in rushing defense.
Kind of hard to be great when half your team sucks.

Too many UphillOffenders out there on run defense, not DownhillDefender® approved.
That felt worse than the debacle against West Virginia, when our not-so-Steele Curtain revealed itself as a collection of holograms.

They gave up...
34 points to UGA in a missed tackle fest in the 2nd half 33 points to Louisville; granted the O sucked, but they didn't help the situation Over 400 yards against SC with absurd missed tackles. Over 500 yards to Texas and 38 points
Of course not all their fault, but for the losses, mostly.
