Eight bedrooms, 3.5 baths. Wraparound porch, beautiful valley views.
Buddy of mine had it booked this weekend for a big family thing, and emailed Monday trying to cancel cause devastation and all. "No no," say Real Estate Investment Trust, "Road to cabin still open. No cancel. No refund."
Anybody need a nice place in Montreat? $800.00 would probably get it.

We have had almost everyone cancel in October and about half the bookings in November and December. We are open and accessible... but i understand why they want to cancel.

I certainly hope you return deposits, hurt the pocket though it may. Tourists would only muck things up, and there's nothing to 'tour' anyway, short of morbid curiosity.

I really do not know what I am going to do next month. I am asset rich and cash poor right now. I know this is miniscule in comparison to the effects this storm has had on others... but it is hurting me pretty badly as well.

Had no water or sewer service
It was liveable last weekend "camping" in the house with a bunch of friends for the game cuz we had water and sewer

Nothing intentional on my part, but the last couple of years we have ended up back in hotels far more than Airbnbs...and I always look at Airbnb first when we travel. It's a no-brainer when I can stay in a nice hotel very close to the event I'm going to for less than an Airbnb farther away. Kinda feel like we're seeing the LiveNation/Ticketmaster effect on Airbnb anymore.
