The problem is with talent, and Venables is one of the best recruiters in America. I agreed with firing "he whose name shall not be spoken" because he just did not bring in the talent we needed.

That D is a 2-3 year rebuilding job right now

The class they have coming in is a start, but it takes a couple years to develop a DL. There is a complete lack of talent on D.

Good D coordinators still hold teams to less than 45 with #### players. He is a bum at this point, we have too much talent to let up that many points. No way our D talent is that bad.

Fact is, we have no talent on defense, especially on the line and in secondary. Its going to take more talent and depth to get this defense turned around.

before the season began. They are going to get tired in a game like tonight's, that being the case. Venables needs time to get more talent in at those positions.

we get burnt on big plays. Not because of talent. When those plays hit.. no 1 is around the offensive player.. That is because we were not in a defensive set to counter teh play. WHo calls the defensive schemes?

Some of you act as if we have been recruiting all 0-1 star players on defense for the last 4 years.

I'm not calling for BV's head, but i'm certainly not going to make excuses for him either.

OUr D stunk tonight. Plain and simple. ALl we can do as fans is cheer for our tigers the next game.
