I admit, I wasn't always in favor of these program kids

getting scholarships. But I admit I was wrrrrong. Not just because the Davis twins were such good players. I've learned to trust this staff's evaluation process and believe they know what is best for their locker room. So when I see guys with low Rivals rankings get offered I know now to keep my mouth shut. (ie. Nolan Turner, Cade Stewart, Braden Galloway)

I think Jake Venables is going to be pretty good, too. He looks to have that intensity like his dad and can run.

Because we don't pull offers, Dabo usually has a few schollys lying around after signing day and even more after spring practice. Bringing in a guy who has grown up with big time football culture and who can be a positive influence in the locker room isn't the worst use of a scholarship.
The staff also has developed great relationships with high school coaches so that they can find the "hidden gems". Everybody wanted Charone Peake, but we were the only ones who knew how good the OTHER receiver, Adam Humphries, was.

A 5th year player is sometimes more valuable than a 2nd or 3rd year 5*. I think the staff wants continuity in the locker room and 5th year players provide that.

How does that work, because he didn't move.

No divorce you jack wad. The Batsons are happily married. You need to think before you vomit all over your Flip-phone.

He left Daniel cause he got his position taken. He came to dorman cause his family is connected. Think about it? He ain’t coming up all this way on just maybes He was promised that position before he left Daniel. It’s no different from college or high school sports instead of competition just transfer.

This has got to be one of the most idiotic posts I have seen. His replacement for the Daniel QB spot was Brent's son and he was a soph. You should not post crap like that with your 3RD post , Coot. the whole deal about he playing at Dorman was outlined in the G'ville news.

I think he was entertaining other offers that would get him more playing time. I know he showed interest in Georgia Tech, but they didn't offer. All he got were some G5 and FCS offers and he wasn't interested in that. Transferring from DWD showed that he wasn't an "automatic" to Clemson.

I agree. Between Phommachanh as QB3 and Kendrick as the emergency QB, I think we've got the depth at QB to move him to safety.

I hope Ben Batson, good athlete that he is, switches to another position where he will have a decent chance. I just watched film on our incoming freshman QB (I can't spell his name), but it's something like Pomanchanch, and I think that he rivals Lawrence in talent! He, like Lawrence was, is rated as the top high-school QB in the country and from his film it is easy to see why. OMG, passing and running---it was hard to believe. My point? I think that Ben could really help us out on the team, but it won't be at QB. Shouldn't the coaches weigh in on this?

While I wish all our players including Batson the best, where Batson plays or does not play is likely the most meaningless issue of the 2019 season.
