How's this for a bold move...

Why not go whole hog on this by securing your league and essentially locking out the SEC? How about the ACC and Big XII combining while requiring ND to go all in? You would give the SEC with no other options but Louisville, Cincinnati, USF, etc.

You could have 4 six team conferences which play 5 divisional opponents and 2 from other divisions. The winners of each division would then have a 4 team playoff to get to the league championship game. This way, each team could still have the 8 league game schedule and play other teams out of the conference as they wish.

The divisions could be:

North
Syracuse
BC
Virginia
Virginia Tech
UNC
Duke

Southwest
Texas Tech
Baylor
TCU
Texas
Oklahoma State
Oklahoma

Midwest
Notre Dame
Iowa State
Kansas State
Pitt
WVU
Kansas

South
Wake Forest
NC State
Clemson
GT
FSU
Miami

Would the NCAA permit the extra games required by a 4 team conference playoff?
